Pleasant stay, great area

House is in a wonderful location. Ewen, the resident manager, was very quick to respond to our queries and issues. Although we never met him, he was always responsive. The house is in a great location looking over the south end of the bay with nice breezes in the afternoon. The AC worked fine as did the TV but we had problems with the upstairs water pressure, as there was none. Ewen said he was going to solve the issue in the future. The house needs some TLC, but over all we had a very nice stay.

Salchi is ons prima bevallen. Off grid, met praktisch een eigen baai om te zonnen en zwemmen. Huis is ruim opgezet, fijne sfeer en val alle gemakken voorzien (helaas 1 slaapkamer zonder airco maar andere 2 met airco)

Not as described

I rented this property for a family vacation to celebrate my birthday along with two of my children having birthdays as well. When we arrived at the house and went inside the first thing the manager said was the lock was loose and he would get some glue to fix it. Next thing we went to the patio and the sliding screen door had a bandage on the screen because it had a hole in it and it was off track. There was ants on the walls, spiders in the shower, something that appeared to be droppings of a rodent of some sort. And the appearance of the furniture was worn down and dusty the place did not appear to be maintained at all. I booked this property without reading past the first couple of reviews and that was a mistake on my part because now when I read reviews from 2021 the same issues still exist today. In one of the rooms the AC was broken and so we noticed a old dusty fan was in there, no clothes dryer, the water filter was a clay pot that was chipped. When I contacted the owner his response to the issues was "this is a rustic place and not modern" and if I needed a less jungly area I should go to Huatulco. I never noticed in the description stating that it’s a jungly or rustic area, it was described as a beach house. In closing I would not suggest renting this place if you want a modern clean air conditioned house.

My name is Francois, I am originally from France and I fell in love with Mexico while living in this wonderfully-diverse and colorful country in 2005 and 2006, where I met friends for life. After having visited most of the country for the last decade, Oaxaca is my favorite state and Costa Esmeralda my favorite beach destination, so I decided to purchase this house for my friends, family and guests like you.
Salchi is a unique place, where you can enjoy a truly-Mexican vacation, enjoying the sun,
unforgettable landscapes and the warm Pacific Ocean. There is nothing more authentic that this secret bay, which I use to call the anti-Cancun.
Wake up with the sound of the waves, the birds enjoy the wind breezes on the lower and upper terraces and recharge completely.
This house is very important for me. Please take care of it like if it were yours and I hope your stay here will make you want to come back.
