Marco Island - “Had us at Hello!” ❤️
Why we purchased a house in Marco Island, Florida? Well, first of all we are from Michigan, need we say more... Polar Vortex... ❄️ We fell for Marco Island because of its sub-tropical warm climate, natural beauty, and varied architecture of homes and neighborhoods, with few gated communities. The island is convenient for getting around by car, bike, or on foot, and is very close to the bridge. No matter where you live, it is easy access to beautiful beaches, water to view swimming dolphins and manatees, marinas, restaurants, boutique shopping, and numerous other water activities along the coast and Marco River.
The atmosphere on Marco Island is very laid back and unpretentious, a true coastal town, where rarely is there a need for a dress code. With a maximum speed limit of 35 MPH on the main roads - you can’t help but be on coastal time. The low number of franchised restaurants and stores allow for islanders to discover and support the amazing local restaurants, shops, and hangouts.
We chose our home for its open, comfortable floor plan, extra large lanai and updated kitchen and bathrooms. We like having a corner lot with its well-manicured lawn, colorful shrubbery, numerous large palm trees and flowering plants, which gives our guests a true tropical paradise experience indoors and outdoors.
Most importantly, we are impressed with Marco Island’s commitment to the protection of endangered species. Marco Island is dedicated to educating the public on the local wildlife that are at-risk. The island is home to several federally protected species: the bald eagle, burrowing owls, loggerheads turtles, gopher tortoise, & manatees - to name a few. The community offers several programs where residents and visitors can be involved in the process of the protection and growth of the endangered wildlife.
With all of this said, it did not take us long to fall hard for this amazing island! We hope that you will too!🌴
