This Must be the Place! We are so excited to invite you to this quaint and well-appointed home on Powder Horn Mountain. Whether you want to hike to the waterfall, just under a half mile from the front door, make S’mores over the fire pit or just listen to the sounds of nature on the cozy screened in porch, this home has it all.

The space:
With 2 full baths, a KING bed, QUEEN bed, and bunk room, this home sleeps 6. The kitchen with new appliances and a 12 cup automatic drip coffee maker is fully stocked along with a huge propane grill on the outside deck Relax in the living room on the large comfy couch and stream a movie on the 55” smart TV. All linens and towels are provided. Hair Dryer and Iron. *This Must be the Place *Free Resort Access to Pool, Fitness Center, Game Room, Tennis, Fishing, Horseshoe pits, frisbee golf *Miles of Hiking Trails in the community *Propane Grill * HughesNet Satellite internet. 25 mins to Boone (13 miles) *40 mins to all ski resorts (21miles) *35 mins to Blowing Rock, Banner Elk *Gated Entry; Pickle ball/tennis/basketball court, frisbee golf, fishing, paddle boats, Campgrounds.
This house provides plenty of games & puzzles for the kids, a huge selection of DVD’s, a Bluetooth enabled vintage turntable/speaker, pickle ball paddles & balls, tennis rackets and balls, a basketball and even a fishing pole! Cell service can be spotty on the mountain, so remember to enable WiFi calling on your phone.
What a great getaway, located just a few hours from Charlotte, Asheville Greensboro, Winston Salem, Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill! Bring your dog, with a $50 per dog fee, charged separate from other fees. Please let us know when booking if you are bringing your pup-we will have a treat for them!

Amazing! first time we visited North Carolina, first time we lived a “White Christmas”

Great experience, great location, Susan was available to answer any question all the time before and during the visit. Even though there is Wifi at the property, it’s the last thing you want to use since it really provides you the environment to connect with nature and the people you are with! 100% recommended!!

Great getaway!

My husband and I had the best weekend at this cabin! We enjoyed the screened in deck, outdoor fire pit and proximity to some great hiking trails. The cleanliness and coziness of this cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Would absolutely recommend staying here for a relaxing trip to the mountains. We will definitely be back!

The best of the best!!

What an adorable cabin! Her decor and supplies was what made me feel like there was every thought put into our stay. There was a binder left behind of lots of information on local must sees and trail info. Whoever the cleaning lady was- props to you!!! Spectacular! What really got me was the screened in back porch so I could enjoy being outside even on a rainy night. We also had camp fires every single night where Susan had brought us some firewood to use. Speaking of Susan - she is the most attentive and professional source that helped us out in so many ways. Thank you so much for our stay!!!

We loved the cabin in Powder Horn!

Beautiful and private community. Convenient to Boone and Tweetsie Railroad! We took the grandkids They loved the big porches and lake! The two youngest thought it a treat to sleep in the bunch bed too and the older was special in her own room! Well stocked with games and plenty to do outside! Highly recommend! We will definitely be back ❤️🙌🏻

Wedding Present

This little vacation was a present for my two friends/roommates who got married on the 7th but do not plan a honeymoon until next year. We all went to celebrate and had a great time. Although it rained two days we still were able to relax, fish, cookout, and enjoyed some interesting board/card games. It was amazing!

Family friendly great for 4 adults and 2 young children

Really great to book and get information. Great get away close to Boone to do a lot of things, an other towns to site see an do actives. On the mountain Phone and internet very limited depending on cell carrier. Despite those issues we would go back. It was very relaxing and saw a fair amount of wildlife. Deer, ducks, turkey, geese. The community has a lot to offer and every one was really helpful and friendly.

The cabin was very, very clean and everything was in its proper place. I loved the cabinet labels! It helped to find items in the kitchen a breeze. Despite a cold, wet weekend we were able to get outside and explore the area. My husband and I especially enjoyed our hike along Laurel Creek. We look forward to our next visit during warmer weather!

All it was sold as and then some

The cabin was cozy and quiet . With the quiet came peaceful sleep . The cabin was very well stocked for cooking . With being secluded means you have to drive to get to Boone or Banner Elk . It’s a scenic drive to and from cabin to Boone so I would suggest planning your trips back to town . We enjoyed our stay just wished we could have stayed longer because plenty of outdoor activities . Packing to leave 7ish we saw 7 deer behind and beside the house . 6 doe's and 1 Buck .

Cozy & Comfortable!

Cabin is super cute, clean and decorated nicely. Linens are soft, lots of extra blankets, nice appliances, and my favorite was the screened in porch with cute furniture and decor. Morning porch sitting and having coffee was so nice! Leasing agent is the best, ever. We would definitely stay again.

A Too Short Weekend

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really loved staying at this property during family weekend for App. I just wish I would have booked it for a little longer. There are so many things we wanted to do but did not do. The pool looked very nice and casual. The paddle boats looked fun. I have heard the hiking trails in the neighborhood are beautiful -- did not see a one. But we did enjoy the cabin so much and it had everything we could have possibly needed -- right down to the black towel in the bathroom for makeup removal! A bonus when traveling with two teenage girls. We did bring all of our food so we did not have to leave the cabin at all for that reason. We ventured out to Blowing Rock on Saturday -- quite a lovely little town and a beautiful drive. If you are not used to windy roads, be warned that getting to the cabin does require some serious driving skills. Not advised for night driving or inexperienced drivers. All in all we loved staying here. Would stay again in a heart beat.
