Welcome to Painted Lakes Ranch! Our venue hosts a historical building which was our town's feed store, built in 1927! We provide beautiful ranch weddings and all types of events including family reunions, parties and all types of gatherings. We love to make people happy!

Our history: Wade Lake's great grandfather traveled to the area in 1881 on a covered wagon from Alabama when he was 3 years old. His family settled here and worked very hard to clear and settle down here. In the early 1930s, he purchased an oil field supply store and turned it into the local feed store which was positioned next door to the railroad depot where the Rock Island Railway stopped on their way to the Fort Worth Stockyards. He built a business purchasing cattle from the local folks and shipping them to the stockyards on the train so locals did not have to do long cattle drives to Fort Worth. The feed store often hosted events such as rodeos where many got their start in that industry.

Joe Clayton raised his grandson, Joe Lake, who preserved his grandfather's land and legacy and passed it on to Wade Lake (Joe Lake's son). To continue preserving the family land and legacy, Wade and I moved the feed store from Bryson out to the home place utilizing Randy Martin with Texas Flip and Move to relocate the old building. It now sits on top of the hill overlooking beautiful scenery with big oaks and lakes that adorn the place.
