The apartment has a great location, because you will have the opportunity to visit the whole city on foot, from the apartment (museums, aquarium, old port, cafes, restaurants, etc.). You will also be a 2 minute walk from transport to the Ile de Ré.

## Emplacement
A must-see destination, La Rochelle has no shortage of assets to charm its visitors. Port city par excellence with its four ports, the White City enchants all those who look at the sun-drenched white stone in which the buildings are built. The ocean, omnipresent, imposes itself as the symbol of the city, sweeping the nostrils of visitors with its browns. The old stones also have their say in this landscape bordered by the Atlantic Ocean where low coasts, peak cliffs and sandy coastlines alternate. International exchanges have fostered a unique architectural mix, subject to various influences from beyond the seas. Not far from the shore, the islands of Ré, Oléron and Aix form a natural barrier preventing the ocean swell from disturbing the calm of the Millennium City. Originally a fishing village founded in the tenth century, it took only two millennia to become an important port. Its dominance in maritime trade lasted until the fifteenth century. But her rebellious spirit was not to the King's taste and she bowed under the siege of Richelieu in the sixteenth century. Despite its lost independence, La Rochelle continues its economic boom through the centuries to the present day thanks to the proximity of the ocean, always at the center of maritime trade.
