Lakefront House with Amazing Sun Room and Jacuzzi!!!

This cozy and beautiful house is located on lakefront of Petenwell lake in Necedah, WI. It has a huge pier right in front of the property and sandy shores. If you are willing to take a walk, there’s a path that wraps around pretty much the whole lake, it is a public path so feel free to take a stroll, jog or ride a bike and enjoy a beautiful nature. Property itself is located on 2.39 acres so there’s plenty of room for kids to enjoy an open space within the property itself. There’s a boat landing north of the property, with a wide overview of the lake, which can be reached through a public path. Fishing is also extremely fun. Lake Petenwell is replenished every year with fish, which includes smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye, northern pike, white bass, catfish, yellow perch.
There’s a lot of paths/trails to enjoy with bikes, motorcycles, ATVs, or snowmobiles in the winter.

Summer fun:
Wisconsin Dells is 45 miles away. Loaded with a lot of water parks, attractions, bars, restaurants, and places to see.
Pontoon rental is available for additional charge . Boating season is open from April 1st to October 17th.
Sand Valley Golf Resort located on the other side of the lake. Sand Valley is ranked top #15 golf courses in United States
Fishing on the lake is a lot of fun as fish is abundant.

Beautiful home and location

Everything was perfect! House was very lovely and spacious. The adults loved the screened in porch and the kids loved swimming in the lake. Had lots of fun boat riding and fishing. Location was very peaceful and beautiful! Definitely hope to come back again.

A little slice of heaven!

The whole process was very enjoyable. Property was perfect! We caught fish the whole weekend. Being winter we had a ton of equipment to carry in for fishing. The driveway short of the house resulted in a lot of work. Not having a path onto the lake at the property was a challenge but we were able to make due with the public landing. I will be looking to stay here again. Overall very happy with our experience!

Old friends get away

There were 8 adults. We were greated with a beautiful property! It was better in person. The home was very clean and well decorated. The kitchen was well stocked. (Coffee pot is slow but works). The bedding and beds where very comfy. The lake had algae the first 2days but we figured it out. The property manager was quick to answer any questions we had. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Necedah August 2022

Private home with everything! Privacy, easy lake access, great yard. Two bedrooms with their own bathrooms plus two additional bathrooms all with showers. Kitchen well equipped, home was super clean and well kept. Screened in porch was awesome with plenty of space for all eight of us. Make sure you check out Rocky Roads Ice Cream store, a quick five minute drive, great milkshakes. Owner was very responsive to all our questions. My 87 year old Mom loved her room with private bath and separate private porch. We rented boat from owner. Boat was very nice, clean Lake Petenwell is huge and fishing was good on the lake and off the pier. Overall five star rental. Thank you!

Unusable lake due to heavy algae bloom

We've stayed at nearly a dozen lake houses across Wisconsin over the last 15 years and while the house was nice, the lake was completely unusable. The widespread, thick algae bloom throughout the lake made the water completely unsuitable for swimming/tubing/boating. Property owner did not provide notice that the lake would be unusable and offered no refund when we left the property after two days. As a lake house, this property was a complete bust for our summer vacation.

Great for a family getaway in the woods!

We had a fun family weekend at this cabin in the woods! The long dining table and open concept kitchen + dining + living room are really great for spending time together. The fridge is gigantic. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of big pots and pans, cooking utensils, and grilling tools -- great for cooking big meals for the whole group. Beds were comfortable, house was clean. Having 3 full bathrooms was also very nice for a big group. Overall a great stay! A few small things: * The provided shampoo & body wash are in very small containers (like a hotel). Recommend bringing your own larger bottles of soap if you're staying more than a couple nights. * The thermostat is a Nest Learning Thermostat, which sometimes automatically changes the temperature completely on its own. We had multiple nights where we tried to turn the thermostat down at night, but within minutes, the thermostat automatically changed itself back up to where it was before. * There is a mowed path behind the house which leads to a dock, and also around the lake itself. There are *TONS* of bugs on that path. Even with deep woods bugspray (40% deet), we were all being bitten up by flies. However, the lawn appears to be treated, and there are much fewer bugs around the lawn. There is also a screened deck, so you can sit outside there and not even worry about bugs at all.

Beautiful and spacious!

This home easily accommodated 10 adults and 3 littles! It is well laid out, warmly decorated and has lots of natural light in each room. Very clean. The kitchen is generously stocked with everything you could need for food prep and cooking ip delicious meals. It has top notch appliances, and is spacious enough for 2 cooks to easily move around at the same time. It would be ni e to have a larger dining table, but there is other seating. The living area, bedrooms and bathrooms are large and comfortable. The sunroom is a huge assett; it's very nice to be outside and not have to bother with bugs. The gas fire pit table was lovely. Speaking of outside, it is perfect for lawn games, enjoying the wood firepit, grilling or a short walk to the lake. Be sure to take advantage of the walking path around the lake, and fishing off the pier! 2 notes if you water lovers: Do NOT bring your own boat or jetski (my reason for only 3 stars on Accuracy of listing.) The pier is large, and has a pontoon boat pictured in the rental info, but the homeowners association does not allow tying up ANY watercraft. Possibly work with the owner for a rental and lift. Also, this lake, along with many others, had algae over-growth this summer that prevented us from getting in the water for most of our time there. It was really dissappointing, but it is obviously not in anyone's control. We planned ahead and enjoyed yard games, walks, board games, the great lawn and woods, and a day in the Dells. The owner is super friendly, helpful, and responds quickly. Other than not having a spot for our boats, we would return to this home again!

Beautiful home, but the lake may have algae

The home is very nice...beautiful kitchen with high-end appliances. The dryer worked ok, but did take a long time to dry clothes. We enjoyed the screened -in porch with the gas fire in the mornings, watching the wildlife: black squirrels, eagles, and a porcupine climbing down from a tree! When I booked it, the listing said all bedrooms had queen beds...but one bed is just a full size. I brought this to the owner's attention, and he has corrected the listing. The owner was very responsive to our questions and a couple of problems. Be aware that Pettenwell lake is privately owned, and there are restrictions. Nothing can be tied to the pier, it is only for embarking and disembarking, without tying to the pier. Also, others have mentioned the algae. The lake was clear the first couple of days, but when the wind blew in algae, and then it was calm, it was thick well beyond the pier. If it had looked like that when we first arrived, I can understand why others were upset. We were able to take our boat out on the large lake to get away from it. But on the pier, it had a pungent odor, so it was not at all pleasant to be on the pier that day. The fishing was fun...there were lots of BIG ones that got away!

Very clean rental

We enjoyed our stay at this property. We were pleased with the cleanliness and the amount of houseware available in the kitchen. The five bedrooms and four full baths helped everyone to have their own space. We did have to purchase paper towels and toilet paper. Three of the baths only had half a roll and the fourth had one with just a little more. The dryer was not working, not a huge deal but a little disappointing. The pontoon was great to rent, unfortunately the gas was empty and should’ve been left full by the previous renters. This was somewhat of an inconvenience. The owner was very responsive regarding this and with any other inquiries we had. The large pier was great, each morning we had our coffee out there.

Great property and very engaged host

We stayed at this property for a week at the end of July 2022. The property itself was very clean - easy check-in/out process. The amenities were great- plenty of dishes, silverware, towels, etc... The sunroom is great for eating in or relaxing along with the swings on the porch and hammock. The wi-fi worked well and we were able to use our own streaming services. There is only one refrigerator though, so we had to use coolers as well as the space was limited. Each room only has one bed (minus one that has a futon in addition) which made children sharing rooms difficult as there wasn't room on most of the bedroom floors for air mattresses. Bunk beds in some rooms would be nice. A pack and play was available for use as well. The dining table isn't large enough for a house this size, but we made use of the counter and small table in the living room. Also, there is only one small couch which made relaxing in the evening tough since there wasn't space for everyone. The lake itself if HUGE! There is no proper beach on the property, but there is a public beach about 5 min away via car. We used that several times for the kids to play in the sand. The lake is rough most days and the kids had a hard time getting in and out of the water as there is only one ladder form the dock to get in. It would be nice if there were stairs from the dock neat the shore. There was an algae bloom while we were there - it wasn't a deal breaker though. There were a lot of biting flies, but we were told by others that they are more common earlier in the season, but it was a late hatch. The water is clear and the sand-bottom lake is great for swimming. We were able to swim, ski, and tube every day with the boat we brought. There is no place to store/tie up an extra boat at the dock as the dock is so high and there are no extra lifts. The marina is very far (via the lake) to fill up though. We had fun fishing as well. There are plenty of fish to catch, if you can catch them! The area is nice. The nearest proper grocery store is about 30 min away and the little town is cute. There is a nice ice cream shop just down the road about 10 minutes that my kids loved! Several nearby restaurants as well. There are not many other "activities" in the area so we mainly hung out on the lake! The host was very nice and available for questions. He was accommodating as we were able to rent a pontoon boat from him. The boat is great and was clean and ran like a dream!

A beautiful quiet place on the lake

Looking for a quiet get away to spend quality time with family. I recently returned from a deployment for 11 months to Iraq and Afghanistan. During that time my family had a newborn and were not able to attend the holidays. We needed a quiet place to accommodate two families to spend quality time together. This property was just what we needed. The layout easily accommodated two families with children especially when they are on different sleep schedules. It has a common area of kitchen dining and living space with two separate wings for the sleeping areas. One with a master and two bathrooms and the other wing with a master w/bath and two other bedrooms with a jack and jill shared bathroom. This place was just what we needed as a family. We didnt get to take full advantage of the property like the screened in porch and fire pit because of the cold windy temps of winter. We look forward to using this property again in the summer.
