We are a big family that loves travel, the outdoors, fishing, hiking, the ocean, beaches, mountains, and playing together. Homer was a perfect fit for us! We opened a fishing charter in 2019 and bought the property we had been renting in 2020, so we would always have a place to stay for the summers and off and on through the rest of the year. It was such a good fit for us that we thought it would be a nice option for other families as well. So we built another house for us to live in on the property and made Salmonberry Suites a full-time vacation rental. We opened for rentals in 2021, and are continuing to develop the property. Our goal for summer of 2022 and 2023 is to add a covered patio out back for the grill, picnic table and firepit that are already available, and add a jacuzzi.

Because we have a large family we usually stay in resorts or vacation homes when traveling together. For us, this house was ideal, so we thought others might like it too. It can be rented as three separate suites, or can accommodate up to 18 people when rented as a single property. It is right in the middle of town and close to everything, but surrounded by trees, so it feels remote. Having 2 full furnished kitchens and a kitchenette makes it possible to have the group coordinate and eat together, or get a little separation from the group if needed. There are a lot of great restaurants in Homer, but a home away from home can help to minimize the cost of feeding a big family or group if you don't want to eat out every meal.
