Beautiful Block Island Anniversary

We had a great time at this property in Block Island celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. The house was clean spacious and well equipped, the deck was wonderful..loved the rocking chairs. The view was great and location provided a quick access to town, lighthouse, etc. Only drawback was that the locks didn’t work so it was hard to secure the house.

Very Clean, and had everything we needed

We had our annual Girls Block Island weekend here. There were 10 girls, and we had more than enough room. Everything we needed was there. One of the best things was having our morning cup of coffee on the deck and watching the sunrise. Private location, but close enough to downtown.

Fabulous family gathering at Louttit home

Our extended family of 6 adults and 4 children under the age of 8 had a marvelous reunion at the extremely roomy, clean and attractively decorated Louttit home. The deck, with its gorgeous ocean view, was everyone's favorite place to hang out for meals & conversation, and we found the house to be easily accessible to desirable areas such as Mohegan Bluffs, Southeast Light, various beaches, and downtown. The large yard was perfect for outdoor play, with the hammock a welcome respite for those who wanted to read or nap outdoors. The first floor master bedroom and bath were very private & convenient for the grandparents, and the third floor kids' bedroom, which could sleep 5, was an instant hit with the grandchildren. The kitchen was well equipped, and the outdoor grill was put to good use, as well. One minor problem which we reported (leaking shower door) was attended to very quickly by Sullivan Real Estate, who also directed us to an agency for a high chair rental for the week. We explored the gorgeous island daily, finding many beautiful places to spend time together, and were all sad to leave the Loutttit house. We hope to return there many times in the future!

Our home was originally called the Amy Dodge House, an 1800's rooming house located up the hill from it's current location. In 1987, after renting on the West side for several summers, my father bought the property. The house was moved onto a new foundation where it currently sits, and a garage built further down the driveway. The house was brought down to the studs and completely renovated while keeping some of the historic charm of a 19th century Block Island home. Over time, the master bedroom addition was added, deck expanded and various updates made. Our large family, including my parents, brothers and all of our children have spent countless summers (and even a few Thanksgivings & New Years celebrations) since then, enjoying this wonderful home. We've hosted clambakes, cookouts and croquet tournaments for extended family. It truly is a wonderful gathering place.

We offer a large home that is perfect for multi-generational or multi-family vacations, reunions and wedding weekends. A perfect combination of quiet, oceanview location while still being close to town and the Southeast Lighthouse and Mohegan Bluffs. The house has the charm of a classic BI farm house with all the modern amenities needed for a stress-free vacation. The first floor master is perfect for grandparents, the bunk room is great for kids and there are 5 other bedrooms to choose from. The lower level rec room gives kids a place of their own to hang out, with access to the large yard for play. Our wraparound deck has multiple areas for dining and relaxing, lots of rockers and outdoor sectional. There is wifi at the home for your convenience. Year after year, this home has provided our family and our renters many wonderful memories of time together enjoying the beauty of Block Island.
