A crow's nest is a structure in the upper part of the mainmast of a ship that is used as a lookout point. It was a sailor in the crow's nest (Rodrigo de Triana) who actually first witnessed the Americas in 1492, rather than Christopher Columbus.'

Welcome to our Lookout Point. This elegant spacious beach getaway offers 3 levels, over 1800 sqft and is perfect for small and large families, small corporate gatherings, or groups wanting to vacation together. It's also perfect for a romantic weekend for couples, who want to pamper themselves.

On the first floor you'll find the 2 car garage with laundry area. A queen bedroom with a Jack and Jill Bath.

The second floor is where you'll find the main living space. The wonderful dining area that seats 8, a sitting area so you can sit and visit, with the chef. Then there's the large family room with Cable TV a DVD player and an electric fireplace. Also on this level are 2 King bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower.

The hand carved stairs lead to the loft (the 3rd floor). Here you'll find another queen bed, a sofa, a TV with DVD player and game system. Enjoy magnificent sunsets from most rooms in the house and from the balcony. Take a relaxing stroll on the beach, whale watching, shelling, or just taking in the sounds and sights of the Pacific Ocean. Once on the beach you can see south to the Siuslaw River Jetty and Baker Beach just to the north

Vcation at the Crow's Nest

This is the 3rd time my family and I have stayed at this property. We love it. It's big and comfortable, and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. It has everything we need for a week-long stay. We'll be back!

Family Reunion

We stayed for a week for a family reunion that was taking place about 30 minutes away at a camp ground. It's a very peaceful location with a beautiful beach less than a five minute walk. There is a small cafe/coffee shop at a nearby resort. We live in Hawaii and really enjoyed the cooler, wetter weather of the Oregon coast.

Comfy home

Great place for grandparents with family - we, the grandparents stayed downstairs and the upstairs was perfect for the teenaged grandson. The parents and other two kids had the main floor bedrooms. The table with benches easily seated our seven for meals. One nice thing was that the bathrooms were stocked with plenty of towels - nice when you stay several days and don't have to keep track of your one towel. It was also an easy walk to the beach.

Florence Stay

This was our 2nd time staying at the Crow's Nest. It's big, beautiful, clean, and has everything we need. And it's a 10 minute walk to the beach. We love this place and will always try to snag it every time we come to Florence to visit family.

Great property and location

This house is just as advertised. It has a great location about 1 block from Heceta Beach. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Communication with owner was excellent. If you need a house in Florence this is a good one.

The view is fantastic, and it's beautifully furnished. I wouldn't recommend it for folks with health issues; the stairs going up to the main floor are super steep, and there A LOT of them.

Great place for us

The Crow's Nest was just about perfect for our group of seven. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable, the common areas large enough, convenient to the beach, plenty of towels. Our only caution is that cooking on the stovetop is not an easy thing to do. It's in a corner and right next to the sink. We agreed that complicated meals are not an easy task! But the rest of the place made up for that. We would stay there again.

2024 Guys Fishing Trip

No TV's in the bedrooms was a shock. Broken drawer in refrigerator , missing kitchen drawer, not enough seating for 4 adults. One of the recliners on the couch was broken. Bathroom sink didnt drain. The yard is overgrown and getting in and out of the driveway was difficult as a result of the tall grass and shrubbery making it impossible to see traffic coming down the hill.

Cute - could use a few repairs

The rental is a very cute little place and could easily accommodate more than just the 4 of us who stayed. I brought a few things to the attention of the property management team that concerned us but have not heard back from them. The railing in the loft is very loose and should be repaired. We were careful to stay away from that when in the loft. The deck is separated from the house on the left side as you walk out and should also be repaired. There are several plug ins that are not working. In particular the plug that housed the carbon monoxide detector was not working. We moved the carbon monoxide detector to a working outlet. And finally, we noticed a can of bed bug spray in the garage and ant traps throughout the house.

Spacious, open home that's near the beach

Our family had a lovely time visiting the Heceta Beach and Florence areas, and this home was an excellent fit for us during our stay. Its spacious floor plan and multiple private bedrooms gave us all a comfortable place to sleep after the day's activities, and its proximity to the beach, hiking, and other activities, while being outside the bustle of busier areas of town, was a huge selling point for us. The home is close enough to the beach that only a short walk is required, and for those who like an early-morning coffee, or need to replenish some food supplies, the hotel to the west just opened a coffee shop and deli a couple of months before we arrived. The home is supplied with several folding chairs on the balcony, a briquette grille which we used twice, and enough beach toys to satisfy a carload of kids. We enjoyed having access to the full-size washer and dryer. While there were two mountain bikes in the garage, neither of them were in working order, which is unfortunate. The upper-floor balcony on the ocean side of the house provides panoramic views (albeit mostly of the large hotel to the west). A small view of the ocean waves can be seen to the northwest. The night sky here is very dark and excellent for stargazing, but the lights from the hotel are bright and will present a visibility problem on that side of the house. The neighborhood is very quiet and we always had restful nights, with one exception noted below. We had a bit of excitement late one night as a bear tried to get into the garbage can, which was entertaining to watch. Fortunately, all garbage cans in the area have locking mechanisms that frustrate bears and other wildlife, so they eventually move on. That said, it's probably best to keep the cans in the garage until garbage day. We have only a few negatives to share. The house wasn't quite as clean as we would have expected — a few of the flat surfaces showed dust and sand, and a candy wrapper was found under one of the master bedroom side tables. Also, the home isn't as well suited for at-home cooking, which our family likes to do. While there was plenty of cookware and drinkware, we frequently felt like there were fewer plates, bowls, flatware, kitchen knives and cutting boards than our family of 6 needed. And one final note, the hardwood floor near the shower in the upper floor bathroom shows water damage, and some of the wood is soft and rotten. This should be remediated as soon as possible for safety.

Wonderful experience!

The house was perfect for our party of 7. Everything was clean and perfect. Plenty of space to hang out in different areas of the house. The kids loved the loft area and lived up there when we were home. Would absolutely stay again! Beach access is only 2 blocks away. Perfect location! The owner and management company were super nice and easy to get a hold of. Wonderful time had by all!

Close to the ocean

There were many things that were good! Beds were comfy, proximity to the ocean was good and it was clean. The place itself could use some refreshing. Carpet needed to be cleaned, there is no light over the dining table (although it was nice and big), there are no coverings over the windows on the kitchen so in the afternoon until the sun goes behind a tree it was pretty brutal. The outside rail on the patio was loose so we didn’t even go out on the deck. I have stayed at many VRBOs and would probably not stay here again because I like them more up to date. If that doesn’t matter to you then this could work. Owner was great to work with! It’s just a personal preference for me.

Wonderful accomodations, everything was perfect, comfortable, close to the beach and close to town, we enjoyed the fire pit, had somores, and had a relaxing time. We'll probably be back, just need to coordinate with family. Everyone loved this place.

Much needed family time

Our time here was great. Everything was clean and as advertised. We enjoyed our time on the Oregon Coast more having this VRBO as our home base. The kitchen had all the basics we needed, cooking meals was wick and easy. We have a family member with Celiac and another with serious allergies so eating out when we travel isn't really an option.

Oregon Coast

We had a great stay at Crow’s Nest. Everything was very clean and check in was easy. There was a lot of space for everyone to spread out and have their own area. We didn’t spend much time at the rental but it was a great home base for our adventures up and down the coast. The only downside of our trip was the rain each day so we never got a chance to experience the beautiful beach but that’s Mother Nature’s fault! We definitely hope to return again one day!

Sibling reunion

This house was perfect for a reunion with my 3 siblings. Plenty of room, a well equipped kitchen, and close to the beach. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
