The Neighborhood:
This unit is in walking distance of SoCo (South Congress), which is a massively popular spot in Austin known for trendy stores and restaurants! It is also really close downtown, and many of the best green areas in Austin (Zilker & Barton Creek Greenbelt). Strolling on SoCo you'll find many cheap eateries, cool thrift stores, and Austin classic dive bars.

This home is tucked nicely away but close to downtown, making it an ideal location if you are coming for a major business event or concert, like ACL, F1 or SXSW.

There is a bus stop right in front of the complex, and it is an easy drive to downtown. Just take 1st street all the way in. Getting around is quick and easy. The apartment is situated between major access highways: 290 (south) and Mopac (west) as well as major local road Lamar, with great food and shopping all around. Downtown Austin is just 3 miles down the road, if you just take South 1st you will reach it. There is FREE parking on-premises.

We are pet-friendly but do require a pet fee. It's in our house rules down below.

This is on the fourth floor and you may need to walk a distance from the parking lot.

We make sure to provide basic amenities you need as you book our place (e.g. hand soap, toilet paper) but further supply especially for long-stay bookings need to be purchased on your own.

Please be aware the unit being in the state of Texas there may be pests like roaches, ants or other bugs. We hire professional pest control to take care of this.

Conflicting Emotions
Pros: 1. The property is in a good location (Note that there are several adult clubs and a store across the street and in the area). Close enough to most venues but far enough to be out of the fray of grid lock traffic. Scooters were readily available. 2. Awesome view of downtown. 3. Christine was very responsive and easily contacted. She made every effort to fix any problems that cropped up. 4. The unit is very quiet and the A/C worked great! 5. Many places to go within walking distance. Cons: 1. While the property and the parking are secure there was an overall concern with cleanliness and safety in the common areas. The elevators were just nasty and smelled - I can assure they had not been cleaned and disinfected for quiet some time. While this is not the responsibility of the unit owners it does contribute to the over all experience of the property. Many "secure" doors were propped open and in the morning puddles of urine (we know it when we see it and smell it) were common. 2. There is significant deferred maintenance in the unit itself and it is showing a lot of wear and tear. The sofa bed was broken (among many other things) so before you book and if you are counting on this be a source for sleeping be sure to inquire if it has been repaired. 3. The beds are dreadful - if you have any kind of back or neck problems beware. 4. The unit wasn't filthy but it wasn't spotless either. I did feel the need to purchase disinfectant wipes and spray and clean all surfaces, door knobs, handles, light switches, toilet handles, remote control, etc. I'm sure the response will be this is done in the cleaning but I can promise you it is not. 5. Beware of requesting early check in or late check out. While the listing says this is available when you inquire or request same you will be told there is a fee associated with request.

Read everything carefully
Honestly I dont think they proofread everything. I had no issues with the actual location at all other than some of the glasses were broken. We weren't going to use them anyways but i always take pictures just in case. My main issue was how the listing said 1 thing but the rental agreement said another. I got charged 2 security deposits which was a pain to deal with and i was accused of cussing at the lady. Honestly i should have with how rude and dismissive she was. This home isn't rented out by the owner they use a property management company. Among thw things that were inconsistent were the security deposit amounts were different on the listing vs thw agreement, quite times posted in the house didn't match the listing or agreement. Parking location said 4th floor only but then in the placw there was a posting that said park anywhere. It took forever to get my security deposit back i had to reach out about it and Honestly i think they completely forgot so i didn't get it until almost exactly 2 weeks later. Overall this was my first and last experience with Vrbo as this was not a good impression. Throughout the qhole thing Vrbo customer service was also absolutely no help at all.

There is a full kitchen, bathrooms with tubs, high-speed wifi, and AC to bring you comfort. The location is super close to all that Austin has to offer, including SXSW and ACL.
