Great birding, walking and quarter mile from the East Coast Greenway bike path. Kitchenette, W/D. grill, patio. quiet and private. In historic Ridge near Blue-n-Hall Marina. Room for your boat/trailer. Darien is fortunate to be located along Georgia’s Colonial Coast Birding Trail. Birdwatchers delight in spotting birds of prey, shorebirds, songbirds, wading birds, and many kinds of waterfowl. Fall and winter offers the best season for spotting raptors and waterfowl. Visitors may see a variety of species including the wood stork, swallow-tailed kite, bald eagle, king rail, painted bunting, mottled duck, wood duck, white ibis, glossy ibis, and purple gallanule. Many miles of pristine marshes and wetlands, and proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, are two important factors making Darien a superb place to view and photograph a wide variety of birds and nature.

Hopefully you will fall in love with this area too. I've lived in Darien for 20 years, retired RN after 30 years of nursing, Innkeeper/B&B owner with my husband Bill for 15 years. Now your vacation is my business.

The Historic Ridge near Darien is where the sea captains made their homes in days gone by. Live oaks draped in moss, beautiful marsh views. This property has its own historic cemetery. Okay to look but please do not go in.

Quiet, secluded yet just outside Darien's city limits. Close to Blue-n-Hall Marina, Sapelo Island and easy drive to beaches on Jekyll and Saint Simons Islands. 50 miles to Savannah, 20 minutes to Harris Neck Wildlife Preserve. The Georgia coast boasts some of the best birding you will find with well over 300 species migrating and or nesting in the area.
