In the 1940s, our family patriarch Harley, and his wife Blenda, set down the foundation and timbers of what would become our family’s retreat for over 70 years. Harley & Blenda sought to create an escape from the hustle and bustle of city working life. They built a lakefront ranch home featuring beautiful knotty pine interiors and a welcoming stone fireplace set in a large living space. Including 3- bedrooms and 2- full baths, the house comfortably sleeps seven. Bedrooms include the master with queen-sized bed and attached ensuite on one side of the house, and two additional bedrooms each with 2 twin beds on the other. Attached to the master is a private bonus room with a hide-away sleeper. A large dining room can accommodate the whole family. Electric appliances throughout the kitchen makes preparing meals a breeze. Natural light abounds through the many large windows and skylights in the house to let you absorb all the beauty that the surrounding scenery has to offer.

Sitting on over 90 acres, Cable Lake is a spring-fed freshwater lake in southwestern Michigan. Within the region, Cable is unique for two reasons. Firstly, Cable Lake is private access only, meaning only property owners and their guests may use the lake; this helps keep the lake from getting crowded. Secondly, the lake is for non-motorized boating only. Sailboats, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats abound. Without motors, the tranquility and cleanliness of the lake are unmatched in the area. Fishermen will appreciate the calm and clean waters, with largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and pike being commonly caught. In addition to our private property, there is also a neighborhood-use-only sandy main beach a stone’s throw away perfect for building a sandcastle and sunbathing. Our property comes with access to two paddle boards, a rowboat, and a paddleboat, but feel free to bring any additional non-motorized water toys with you!
