Double booking
My friends and I have been using VRBO for our yearly ski trips for the last few years. In all of my years of using the app, I’ve never had a more frustrating experience than this.
In the days leading up to the trip, I never received check in information although I had received email confirmation of the booking. While this should have been a red flag for me, I didn’t think much of it. At 3:30 on the day of check in, I messaged the host if they could provide the check in information for our 4pm check in. When I checked the app, all I saw was a notice of BOOKING CANCELLED. No message, no phone call. I had to dig to even get a hold of Laura’s number to ask what happened. She explained that the house had been double booked on another housing platform and the other family booked the house first. Our group of ten was already at the slopes and we live 3 hours away, leaving us homeless. While the owner did try and help find other houses, you can imagine how scarce houses were at 4pm for ten people on the day of check in. Her suggestions were also double the price of what we paid.
I would in no way recommend this property or its management.
