Great space for families right on the beach

Our week long stay was very comfortable with family. Each bedroom was comfortable and clean. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. The master bath was a real treat for relaxing after a long day at the beach with kids. Easy check in and out with no complaints.

House was OK

This house was just okay. We booked it mainly because you could walk directly onto the beach from the deck. We had similar problems to other reviewers here and VRBO (where we initially booked) - the leaking sliding glass doors, outlets not covered all the way, stains on furniture and bedding, furniture needing upgrading). I probably wouldn’t book this place again.

We booked this property specifically because it was steps to the beach. When we got there, there were a few things we immediate noticed - the sliding glass doors leaking from the tropical storm and a couple outlets were loose. We also noticed that the place wasn’t very clean. There was some sand on the floor and a few stains. The few issues we did have - internet, leaking doors and the keypad lock not working - were addressed my the property managers quickly. Overall the place wasn’t terrible, but probably wouldn’t stay there again.

Okay. Location was great

The couches were uncomfortable and dirty! Black dirt! Permanent dirt. We were told this was fixed before booking. It was not! Beds were uncomfortable with flimsy mattresses. The house itself was clean. And spacious. BUT: the bedroom listed as two twins - was actually a day bed with two mattresses. There was no way two adults could sleep in that room! Kids- yes. Location was nice . I will never rent from an agency that is not directly located near the property again. Vacasa was responsive but they had to contact their local contractors. Those contractors never fixed the maintenance issue we had nor the WiFi issue within the 7 days we were there. WiFi worked for the first 3 days. A bathroom door handle was broken and could not be shut due to it The house itself is okay. I would advise the furniture be updated and better management of property

Our Topsail Stay

We enjoyed this home and while there were some concerns in regards to outlets and sliding glass doors leaking, it is in such a nice location and our family got to stay on the other side so that was a perk. Additionally, we have connected them with these concerns!

Decent overall

The location to the beach is definitely a win. However, the shower head and bathrooms were really moldy, and many of the pillows are stained, which is just kind of gross. The place needs a facelift overall- not sure we would stay here again, but we made the best of it. The deck was a huge win for us.

Get a local number for issues

We would not have gotten in the door without a phone number for a local person. Otherwise, very nice for a beach rental.

Topsail

Vacasa left us hanging because we couldn’t get in rental. For 3 hours, we waited and tried to speak with live person. Finally, called VRBO, Sergio was very helpful. My sister called Vacasa rental phone number and immediately talked with a person! They were able to give us code in matter of seconds. Wehave used VRBO in past and always happy with them. Will not use Vacasa!

Right on beach

This house is right on the beach with beautiful views. It’s furnished with everything you need. The couches could use a good deep clean. The spot where the inside ac unit goes was a big hole in the wall. The outside plugs did not work and we couldn’t charge the batteries for the boat. This was reported but didn’t get taken care of. We enjoyed our stay overall though.

New owners, so many things to fix

Do not rent this house until remodel. NO A/C all week despite 50 phone calls and texts. Below basic kitchen. Junk chairs laying around. Last renters left spray tan all over. Run away.

We were expecting more

They had the very basics. There were couches but they were so dirty that I didn't want to sit on them without a barrier. There were supplies in the kitchen to cook with but most of them were broken or melted or scratched with Teflon flakes coming off into our food. The floor on the entry level of the home had many places where we were afraid to step because we thought we might fall right through it. The walls were covered in stains and dirt marks and dust. The home needs updating.

Served the purpose

I don’t typically leave reviews but felt this one needs it. We had received the code through text the night before but upon arrival it wasn’t working. We were told we were given the wrong code. The pictures are definitely outdated on the listing. The steps leading to the beach show no landscaping but there is now over grown on the steps. When we got there the amount of sand still there was surprising after seeing you can be charged extra. The sliding doors and master shower glass looked like they ain’t been cleaned in a long time. The shower heads definitely need a deep clean with all the grime on them. Then the vents around the sliding doors on the second floor had soft spots which was a little concerning. As other reviews mentioned the couches are terribly uncomfortable and stained. Thankful we weren’t in the room much. My biggest annoyances and concerns were in one bedroom downstairs there was no lights, there was a lamp but no lightbulb. The bedroom downstairs with the twin bed had a vent above the bed that constantly dripped on the kids bed leaving it wet. We couldn’t figure out why it was dripping. We didn’t leave doors open. Lastly, the bugs seemed excessive. We killed two roaches! But there’s a note stating they’re “normal” but I don’t know how normal I’d call this amount. Overall the purpose was served but I definitely couldn’t give 5 stars. Especially after being told the host fee was so much higher to maintain property in excellent condition and cleanliness.

House was awful

The house was in awful condition, from the couch just looking dirty and disgusting to chairs falling apart. The cleaning looked like they took a feather duster and lightly did everything. Every bathroom was dirty, there was sand everywhere and a huge nasty stain in the corner of one of the bathrooms, it was just disgusting. Another complaint was the sliding glass door would just come off the track and we couldn’t use it so thank god there was two doors. In the kitchen and bathrooms all the cabinets didn’t shut and the kitchen was not stocked with pots and pans other then dirty old ones. The house needed an overall remodel as well, it rained one night and there was water coming out of an outlet which is highly dangerous and gross, it also had a ring of mold around the outlet. Along with the leaking outlets the sliding doors leaked and water came into the living room. The only thing good about this house was the short walk to the beach, other then that we will not be staying here again, we waited until 4pm to check in because Vacasa doesn’t offer early check in and the house wasn’t clean.

Visit to Top Sail in Coastal Cabin

This house was perfect for our stay. It's right on the beach, and the views (especially the sunrise) are amazing. There were some communication errors, but those were fixed rather quickly. I would give this overall stay a 4.5 star. There are some areas that need improvement, but isn't that the case in all homes?

Perfect vacation

We had a wonderful week. The location was excellent and the home was right on the beach. There were reviews about the upstairs air conditioner not working but I was assured there was a portable unit that would keep the area cool. The portable unit worked very well and we had no problems with remaining cool. I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.
