Warmer weather invites you to snuggle up with sunshine and lake breezes. Swim, float, or just lounge on the dock and let the day drift by. Looking for adventure? Tubing, wakeboarding, and endless fun are right at your fingertips—or just hop on a sunset cruise to Eaton’s Ferry Bridge for a delicious dinner on the water.

Got a four-legged snuggle buddy? You're welcome to bring up to two dogs along for the fun (pet fee of $250 applies). Sorry—no cats, please. This lakefront cottage is perfect for pups who love splashing in the water or napping in the sun.

Prefer to stay snuggled in? Curl up with a book on the lakeside deck, toss a line in off the dock (with 10+ feet of water!), or simply sip something cold and watch the clouds roll by. In cooler months, the lake transforms into a canvas of vibrant fall color. Bring your own pontoon and take in the reflections from the calm, quiet water—there’s nothing quite like it. End your day by the crackling firepit, sharing stories, roasting S’mores, and watching the stars wink goodnight. No matter the season, Snuggle Inn is your go-to spot for cuddling up, kicking back, and creating memories you’ll never want to leave behind.

An easy drive from Raleigh/Durham, Richmond & Virginia Beach, Heron Lodge is located on the North West side of Lake Gaston between mile markers 14 & 15.  You're just a quick boat or jet ski ride to the Eaton Ferry Bridge. Here you will find a local waterfront restaurant and a marina to fuel your watercraft. Also, this home is conveniently located at the entrance to Poplar Creek, home of Poplar Pointe Marina and Shady Shack Bar & Grill, just a short distance away! Grab some fuel for your watercraft, great drinks, bar food, hand-dipped icecream or pick up a souvenir at the gift shop. It's a local favorite!

Bringing or renting a boat? Cleats are provided to tie off your own boat, jet ski or a rental (The boat slip is for owner use only). You will need to bring your own bumpers and lines to secure your watercraft.

1. Top Floor
The top floor has one full bathroom and two bedrooms with Queen-sized beds.

2. Main Floor
The main floor has 1 bedroom with a Queen size bed and 1 full bathroom & 1 half bathroom

Please Note: Heron Lodge is not available for groups larger than 8, events or parties.   
Nearest Boat Launch is Poplar Creek VDWR Public Boat Ramp on Highway 903 or the Eaton Ferry Marina.
Nearest Grocery (10 min): Food Lion, Littleton, NC 
Nearest Gas Station: Ebony General Store (5 min)
Nearest Marina: Eaton Ferry (10 min by boat); (10 min by car)

To get you started...
The bathrooms are stocked with courtesy soaps and shampoos designed for quick "off the shelf" use.  Each bathroom has a roll of septic-friendly toilet tissue as a starter. You are encouraged to bring whatever you feel you might need beyond the courtesy items provided.

The kitchen is stocked with one roll of paper towels, one trash bag for the kitchen trashcan, trial-size dish soap, two dishwasher pods and 1 sponge.  You are encouraged to bring whatever you feel you might need beyond the courtesy items provided.

A few more tid-bits...  :)

1.  Pet Policy:  We know what it's like to have dogs that are part of the family, so we welcome well-behaved, fully housebroken dogs (limit 2). All dogs will need to be registered on the Lake Gaston Vacation Rentals site, and they must be supervised at all times or in a crate if home alone. Please respect our home by keeping the dogs off of the furniture, inside and outside.  It is the owner's responsibility to clean up any pet waste. There is a non-refundable pet fee of $250.  No cats please. 

2.  The house, like 99% of all lake homes on Lake Gaston, uses a septic system.  This system is a finely balanced biological system.  Please help us keep it working flawlessly by flushing ONLY toilet paper.  Renters are responsible for any damage caused by misuse.

3.  Bow-Riders and deep draft Wake Board boats need to check their Hummingbirds to ensure adequate depth in all coves.  Pontoons should have no issues and everyone is welcome to tie off at the dock with rental boats.(make sure to bring your bumpers!).

4.  Culverts & Bridges:  Be sure to lower your bimini top when going under bridges or through culverts.  Appearances can be deceiving!

5.  Security Camera Disclosure:  We take your privacy very seriously.  However, this home is monitored by exterior security cameras.  The cameras do not record sound.  Please let us know if this is an issue with your party for any reason.
