Our families have been coming to the Rehoboth area for generations, but we looked for a place at the beach for over 10 years before we found and fell in love with SeaGarden Cottage - the beach house of our dreams.
Dewey Beach is the prototypical beach town, two blocks wide with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and Rehoboth Bay on the other. There are dozens of restaurants from coffee shops to pizza (Grotto, Mama Celeste's) to Greek to fresh local food & craft beer (Dewey Beer & Food Co.) to gourmet dining (Two Seas) and delicious American fare (Woody's Cafe - best crabcake in DE!). Anything you can't find is just a mile away in Rehoboth - including the world-class Blue Moon and Back Porch restaurants, sushi on the roof at The Cultured Pearl, and the original Dogfish Head brewpub! There are many watering holes like the world-famous Starboard and the best live-music scene of any Atlantic Coast beach town (the Bottle & Cork just can't be beat!). There are several beach supply shops, a marina where you can rent a boat (can also rent jet-skis at Ruddertowne) or put in your own boat, and just down Rt. 1 is the Old Inlet Bait & Tackle that has absolutely everything for fishing (including a rod/reel repair shop), crabbing and clamming.
Whether you love reading on the beach all day or shopping at the tax-free outlets or taking the kids to a water park or spending evenings on the Boardwalk (personally, I've never lost my love of Skee-Ball), or board-sailing the back bay or skim-boarding the ocean waves, or taking in an incredible live music show at the one & only Bottle & Cork or a delicious meal and a great beer at Dewey Beer & Food Company or a truly fine meal following drinks on the roof deck at Two Seas or stalking that big striped bass from the jetty at Indian River Inlet (or drifting for flounder on the sandy flats of the bay or from the fishing pier in Lewes) or just collecting shells on the beach, it's ALL here within a stone's throw of SeaGarden Cottage!
