This is a quality home located in the very sought-after neighborhood of Shanghai - the corner of Huashan, Wukang and Anfu roads 华山/武康/安福路口, the heart of the former French Concession. It has everything you would be looking for: spacious room, private bathroom and a very comfortable bed with a new mattress. The living room and kitchen are spacious and are equipped with almost everything. There is a wide array of cáfes, bakeries, pubs, restaurants and shops just around the corner. This is the area where things are happening in Shanghai, where the locals mingle with the expats, where groups of visitors come and photograph the beautiful architecture, and where the Western Taipans and Chinese luminaries used to reside. Nestling here will let you live the quintessential Shanghai life.

A brief stroll or cycling will take you to some other interesting places. Jing'an Temple is about 10 minutes away. My favorites include the Shanghai Film Art Center on Xinhua Lu, (Lu means road in English) where the Shanghai International Film Festival takes place; Columbia Circle, the old US Navy club, and Yuyuan Lu where the old International Settlement was. Bus 71 will take you directly to the Bund in 20 minutes. Subway Line 2/7/10/14 are all nearby. This area is vibrant on its own and in addition you can get anywhere easily and quickly.

Lovely Stay with everything you need

Kathy is a lovely host who will provide you with everything you need to know about the area too. The area is full of life and amazing places to shop and eat. Her apartment is homely and comfortable. In the kitchen you'll find all you need and the bathroom is also spacious and well put together. I can only recommend this place to stay as it is in one of the best parts of Shanghai and also has at least 3 subway lines very close too. I'd come here again any time!

Shanghai is centered around the former French Concession. Simply put, It is one of the most chic and beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Just give you a few ideas, our next door neighbor is Qing Dynasty's last prime minister Li Hongzhang, across the street is his son's resident, now part of Shanghai government's property. A few steps away is the former Swire's group Taipan's residence, now is Radisson Collection Hotel. Many Chinese former dignitaries literature masters and film celebrities used to live in the area. Shanghai Theater Academy and its Art Center are 5 minutes walk away. We have French bakeries, Japanese and all other flavor's baking houses around, not to mention a hodgepodge of cafes, restaurants and pubs. The locals living in other areas of Shanghai come to this neighborhood to visit and photograph. Public transportation to go to other area of city is also very convenient. In short this is "The Neighborhood" where you want to stay in Shanghai!

My property is beautifully decorated, cozy, quiet and has everything you will need. The mattress is new, and all bedsheets and linens are of good quality. We have a balcony and a beautiful garden in the compound. Two grocery stores are just next door. One very important aspect of living in Shanghai comfortably is, we have decent neighbors! The elevators and corridors have little foot traffic and all public areas are well-organized and spotless clean. This apartment offers the comfort of a home away from home.
