Not as pictured; difficult communication
While the location and spaces in this apartment are desireable, it is not as pictured in the VRBO listing. Living room furniture is a stained-in-many-places fabric couch, not what is pictured. The lighting is minimal throughout the flooring is worn and very sad. It's grim. It could be an amazing lodging. But the hardest thing for us was:
1) the lack of communication and difficulty getting into the unit, after a long transantlantic flight. On OCT 18th we reserved the space for mid-December we received "will be in touch shortly" response after booking. We heard NOTHING, even when I communicated to ask for the address and entry procedures as we began our travels. The address listed in VRBO is wrong - the unit is NOT #5, it is #6. This made finding the apt. hard. After standing at the entrance of the building for 30 minutes with intermittent communication from the host, we received the codes necessary to enter.
2) VERY unreliable internet. It worked ONLY in the kitchen and even then it was off on and on.
While we loved the location and all it offered, this place has some work to do to have a higher rating. It would be useful for the host inform international visitors to have What's App on their phone as the main communication mode. We didn't have the app and the host wasn't responsive on the VRBO app., they then asked us to switch to What's App, which we didn't have installed. All in all a 2-3 rating.
