While the area is a throwback to simpler times, your vacation home is a lux casual residence filled with happiness and room for everyone to enjoy. As you enter the home from the second floor, you will imagine spending time relaxing on the front redwood deck. The formal entry opens into a spacious great room, where you will find vaulted knotty pine ceilings and accents, a pellet-fueled stove on a brick hearth, and gorgeous skylights.

Indoor and outdoor living is a joy with three decks and comfortable patios to enjoy lounging, hot tubbing, and the amazing views in all direction’s day or starry night.

Comforts are a plentiful mix of upscale furniture and one-of-a-kind pieces.

The entire family will enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi, Smart TVs, hot tub, pellet-fueled fireplaces, and propane grill. The kids have their space, and the adults have the upstairs family room. Downstairs is a game/TV room. Kids can bunk/trundle. Home cooked meals are a snap with a fully stocked kitchen with all the pots, pans, dishes, and utensils you might need.

Pine Mountain Club, CA is a sweet mountain village that beckons us back to a simpler time. Most of the town business are is open Wednesday to Sunday.

Getting There
It's about 20 minutes from the exit off the Highway 5 Freeway. It’s 2 hours or less to Santa Barbara, Hollywood, or LAX Airport, and an estimated 45 minutes from Bakersfield or Valencia. Once off the freeways, the roads are windy, but well-maintained and paved all the rest of the way. The house has a paved, half-circle driveway.

Cellular Coverage
Verizon works well in Pine Mountain Club. If you have any other carrier, you will have NO service except when connected to Wi-Fi at Homestay. We recommend you print hard copy directions before you leave your home.

Parking
The driveway is large enough for 3-4 standard vehicles. All cars must park on the driveway or dirt. There is no street parking allowed.

Entry
Keyless entry is available for ease. Your own code will be provided after booking. Codes are automatically changed after every guest departs the property at the end of their stay.

- Dishes and silverware for 12 settings

Starter Kit
We provide many of the basics to get you started during your visit, including: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, trash can liners, laundry and dishwasher detergent, towels, coffee, tea, creamer, sugar, cooking oil, and salt and pepper. It’s highly recommended that you bring extra items or personal preferences and bring all the fixings to cook and/or bake if you wish. There are limited options for food and restaurants up in Pine Mountain Club, with many only available Wednesdays to Sundays.

Laundry
NOTE: The laundry room is unfinished at this time, as we are awaiting special parts.

Gone Fishing
Bring your own fishing pole to catch and release on the small pond or small lake, where no swimming or boating is allowed so your waters won’t get roughed up. Bring your fisherman's tackle box and your patience and spend the day daydreaming away. Limited parking spots are available. Open park hours vary based on sunset and the weather. It is a 10-minute walk through the neighborhood by the golf course.

Location
Pine Mountain Club is a remote, sparsely populated mountain village plopped down in the middle of a million acres of pine trees. There are other homes, but it’s incredibly quiet. If you’re someone who loves nature, but doesn’t like being totally alone in the woods, this is an ideal location. It’s also a stargazer's dream with no light pollution. Outside lights and sound must be off after 10 p.m.

Heating & Cooling
The heating is on the upper floor only and controlled by a Nest Thermostat. We have provided a space heater in the lower game room and bedroom (bedroom #4). A portable air conditioner is provided, but nights usually cool down. All bedrooms have fans, so open the windows and turn on fans to quickly get a cross breeze. The downstairs is always on the cooler side, which is wonderful in the summer, even on hot days.

Internet
The high-speed of 150 Mbps+ is suitable for multiple people streaming videos, remote work, surfing the web, and answering emails. Please note, however, we are in the mountains and there can be some internet outage due to high winds or just because. If this happens, feel free to enjoy the games and other amenities like your hot tub or Pine Mountain Club.

Outdoor Space
The spa, grill, patio furniture, and string lights are for your enjoyment! After 10 p.m., all lights and sound need to be off, as required by the Homeowner Association rules. This is a wonderful time to stargaze in a hammock or lay out on the porch and enjoy the beauty all around us.

BBQ
On the back porch, we have provided a stainless-steel BBQ for your cooking experience. This grill is hard piped with propane for your use and never runs out. Please note that bears have an extreme good sense so, for your safety, please cook and then scrape the grill down, bring all food inside when finished eating, and, once cool, add the cover over the grill.

General Store
The store is open until 8 p.m. They will most likely have the basics covered here, such as socks, Tums, toothpaste, dental floss, ice cream, real cream for your coffee, or the best chicken or tuna salad from the deli.

Things To Do
Stargazing, mountain biking, walking, and hiking are the primary attractions in the area. However, we are also in the area for a waterfall hike, visit to the natural hot springs a short drive away, and dirt biking rentals 20-30 minutes down the road.

Security
In an effort to keep the entire property more secure and keep an eye on the bears, mountain lions and other wildlife, we have installed many security cameras on the EXTERIOR ONLY of the cottage. Please remember, we are in bear country and, while dogs and children are allowed, you MUST always keep an eye on them. No exceptions!

Septic
We allow nothing but toilet paper down the sensitive septic system.

Trash
Please leave trash inside the house. Once you are ready, drop off your trash at the Transfer RECYCLE CENTER located at the end of Aleutian Drive. Check hours of operation, but on most days the center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:55 p.m.

Wildlife
We live in their home. Always lock your card and doors. Don’t leave any kind of food, candy, gum, old coke cans, or anything perfumed in your car. Even the slightest odors can attract the wildlife, so be safe and act accordingly.

Fire Extinguisher
The fire extinguisher is in the kitchen. We regularly check and maintain our fire extinguishers.
