As Listed

We found the property to be as listed, in a nice quiet neighborhood. We felt very safe and comfortable there. The location was a short drive to Universal Studios and Citywalk as advertised. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the host was very kind, communicative and helpful.

Shepherd's Conference Con't Ed.

Walter and Irene were super hosts. Communication was out of this world. Very attentive to any needs we had which wasn't much. We're just a bunch of dudes on auto-pilot with ex-military and police officers in the group so our needs were minimal. This 5 bedroom and 3 bath met our needs and everything was in order as advertised. Definitely will look Walter and Irene up next year when we attend this conference again. Did I mention they were super hosts. :-)

Dissapointing

The house was not clean as it should. When we arrived we didnt have all we need for the 10 guests. After claiming, the host came with the necessary stuff. We could not use the garage for 2 cars because it was untidy and there were mattresses, furniture and other stuff in it. The towels were clean but some were old and stained. Besides that, they werent in the bathrooms or bedrooms. We had to look for them inside the closets. The bedroom (downstairs) doesn't have a place where to hung the clothes. And most of the mattreses in the house were not comfortable. A good thing was that we had plenty of space to gather together. Compared to other properties in which we have recently stayed this was the worst. The comunication with the host/owner was good and he was kind.

Cancelled on me 9:30 pm the night before we were to arrive

Host called us to try and move us to a smaller place because he said the software double booked this location. Once we realized the replacement was significantly smaller and less bedroom we said that wouldn’t work and they had to cancel the reservation leaving us last minute to find another place for our family trip.

I love hosting because it allows me to meet amazing people from all over the world and learn about their cultures. I have over 7 properties within 3-4 miles of each other. I have been very fortunate since coming here as a 17 year old kid with no family member. I feel I owe everything to the goodness and kindness of strangers I met along the way in my journey through life.
So while money is important, it should not be our sole motivation in life. My goal is to devote my life in the service of mankind. That is why I seat on may boards today so I can give back. VRBO has given me bad reviews and downgraded my listing before because I offered money back to guests or ask them to cancel so they can get their money back when my place was not available. But I understand, they have to make money. Not everyone is motivated by money. Through hosting, people have offered me to come and stay in some of the most amazing homes all over the world. I would not have been able to have access to these places if not for kindness shown to strangers. I have been a premier host most of my hosting years. I have to always do what I feel is the right thing and not be dependent on reviews or what people so or do.
