A nice, quick stay
The house has been updated nicely, and there was definitely enough room for us with 7 children (ages 12 years down to 12 months). We stopped in for one night because we attended the Phile Wickham concert that was nearby in Gardendale. The only thing I was surprised by was the surrounding "neighborhood". The house itself was well-kept, but the neighborhood needs some help. The gated driveway was not accessible to us because, in order to get to it, you would need to drive down a little pig trail, and we drive a large vehicle to accommodate our family. That being said, we were able to park out front, right by the gate, with no issues. After exploring the backyard, we were very thankful that we did NOT try to park in the gated zone because we found a LOT of nails and screws in the designated parking gravel area. I am sure that this was left behind by the construction crew, as it appears that the house has been updated VERY recently. (Our stay was in February 2024.)
All that being said, the surrounding area was VERY quiet, and we never heard more than a neighbor's dog and a train off in the distance. The house served its purpose for this trip. I was only disappointed by the things that I mentioned, and didn't feel that the house was worth $500+ (we were charged for "extra" guests, even though it was just our 7 children...). We stayed in Orange Beach, Alabama, ON THE BEACH, at a gorgeous house for less than that per night, just one year ago.
