Great house and location for visiting Swarthmore

The cottage is excellent. I enjoyed my stay quite a bit.

Quaint but…

This is a beautiful cottage. Clean. Perfect location. Dunkin Donuts for coffee or a night time stroll for ice cream. Train station across the street. Really. It’s a beautiful place. However, the internet connection is very, very poor. It’s not possible to do work because the internet does not stay connected. The TV remotes do not change the channels on the TV. If you only need a great place to stay for pleasure or campus visit, then it’s a great stay. If you need internet, I would not recommend it. Otherwise, beautiful.

I’d stay again and Russ was great!

This was a pleasant stay and Russ was exceptional on communication and even getting coffee filters to me for the next morning! The air conditioner blowing right over the bed was loud for me and there’s only a sliver of kitchen counter space for meal prep, but the water tasted good and stove worked well - I had what I needed. I loved the location for walking in nature!

Unsafe, unresponsive, and disappointing overall

We would not stay here again. The most serious issue was that the door lock did not work properly, making it impossible to securely lock the apartment. The only reason we were able to enter at check-in was because the lock opened without a code. The pre-arrival instructions referenced a lockbox and key, but there was no lockbox...just the faulty keypad.We contacted the host, and he came late that night to check. He agreed the lock was not functioning and said it would be repaired the next day...but it never was. We never heard back from him again. We didn’t feel safe sleeping in the unit or leaving our belongings during the day.On top of that, the apartment smelled awful, and the washcloths were basically old rags. The only positives were that the bed was reasonably comfortable and the location was convenient, but that doesn’t make up for the security issues and lack of communication.Renters should be able to expect basic safety and responsiveness, and unfortunately, this listing failed on both counts.

Would not recommend

The property calls itsself a work study suite but there was no WiFi (despite being given a non existent network), and the host was completely unresponsive outside of a few automated messages. Vrbo customer service was also completely unhelpful and useless.
