So how often can you say you spent the night in a castle's turret? Enter our 1 bedroom bottom floor garden suite through the tower at the base of the historic Layton Castle. Comfortable queen size bed, newly replaced oak wood floors, curved fanlight window, high ceilings, views of the garden full, ...beautiful and peaceful, gated. Newly renovated with modern bathroom & kitchen. Washer & dryer, dishwasher. Wander the historic grounds, swing in the old bench swing under the live oak and read a book, drink a glass of wine.
Accommodations were lovely. The only suggestions I have is to add window covering in kitchen and stock bakewear.

Great grounds. Well gated. Area outside of property sketchy. Nevertheless, we felt safe on property which is a large property. I will most certainly stay there again.

Welcome to Layton Castle, a grand estate on the Ouachita River. To learn more about this historic place, go to laytoncastle.com.
Besides long and short-term tenants, my husband and I live at the castle most of the year (we’re the 6th generation to live here), though we spend summer months in Utah when possible. We have staff on the grounds most days and we are a call or text away if you need something.
We do monthly public tours of the historic family floor October - May, and private/custom tours when requested (8 person minimum). We love sharing the history of Layton Castle! We have occasional weddings and events on the grounds as well.
You are welcome to wander the grounds, hang out on the patio furniture, swing in the swing. Make a flower arrangement - you’ll find a vase in your apt : ).

Layton Castle is located on the Ouachita River, just south of downtown Monroe, which being beautifully revitalized - full of great restaurants and right across the river the Antique Alley. We are across the street from the Masur Museum and the Cooley House (built by a disciple of Frank Lloyd Wright).
