Hi, I’m Karen! I’m originally from Taiwan, raised in Sacramento, and I’ve called Oakland home for the past 10 years. I’m a designer and entrepreneur who loves creating beautiful, welcoming spaces for people to enjoy. Hosting allows me to share a bit of my creativity and hospitality with others—it brings me joy to help guests feel at home while exploring the Bay Area. When I’m not working, I enjoy interior design, good food, and spending time with my English bulldog, Rocco!

I chose this neighborhood because it’s peaceful, walkable, and full of character. East Oakland has a rich history and a strong sense of community. What I enjoy most is the quiet atmosphere—perfect for relaxing—while still being close to great food, local shops, and public transit. It’s also just a short drive to Lake Merritt, the Laurel District, and Downtown Oakland, making it a convenient home base for exploring the Bay Area.
