Flooded with sunlight from large windows and sliding glass doors, the house seamlessly connects to its surroundings. Expansive eastern and western decks overlook the creek and woodlands, offering ideal spaces for morning coffee, afternoon hammock reading, al fresco meals, and incredible birdwatching. Whether you're gazing at the trees, listening to coyotes at night, or stargazing in the dark skies, this is a home that invites you to slow down and take it all in.
Inside, the home is airy, artist designed. Clean lines meet natural textures, and the open-plan living/dining area is great for quiet relaxation or gathering with family and friends. A well-equipped “unfitted” kitchen includes essentials for casual cooking and conversation, while ecological details like a drawer dishwasher, European stacked washer/dryer, and a clothesline support low-impact living. Our three-bedroom, three-bath home includes one walk-in shower, an outdoor shower, and two bathtubs with handheld sprays. Please note that the upstairs bedroom is a loft—fully visually private but without a door—and the house is not childproof.
Designed with modern building science, the home stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It is wheelchair accessible—John uses a wheelchair—but we recommend contacting us ahead of time to ensure your specific accessibility needs are met.
Adjacent to our property is the stunning 1,500-acre Tivoli Bays nature preserve, with miles of trails, waterfalls for summer dips, and a kayak/canoe launch on the Hudson River. Tivoli village is a walkable gem with restaurants, a wine shop, a grocery, a pub, and boutiques. You’re also a short drive from Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Bard College, and the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts. The area is filled with farmers markets, swimming holes, antiques, and natural beauty.
This is not a party house—it’s a place for connection, rest, and reflection. We welcome couples, families, and small groups of friends who appreciate peace, beauty, and the rhythms of nature. Monthly and weekly discounts are available.
We’re a bit old school: when requesting your stay, we kindly ask that you tell us a little about yourself so we can ensure a good match.
We feel lucky to live in a place where the wild world is close at hand, and we’re happy to share it with guests who will love it as much as we do.
Pets are allowed on a case by case basis.
This property sits on the ancestral land of the Munsee Lenape people within the Stony Creek watershed.
