The Mews has a cosy living and dining area with patio doors to a small south facing decking There are two comfortable bedrooms on the upper floor along with a bathroom with a bath and shower. The village with its narrow, ancient streets is notoriously difficult for parking, so a rare attraction for our property is the integral garage with EV Charger.
Shaldon sits across the Teign estuary from Teignmouth and is connected by passenger ferry and the iconic bridge. It has an award winning butcher and baker and yes, look next door a candlestick maker. There is also a well stocked convenience store, pharmacy and post office along with 4 pubs and several convenient cafes.
Within a few minutes walk are the beaches including the Ness beach which can only be accessed by a smugglers tunnel. There are hosts of rock pools and plenty of sand for sand castles. There is also a small zoo which specialises in looking after rare and endangered small animals.
Shaldon is renowned for its music festival usually held in June. Punching way above its weight for a small seaside town, this years line up included the internationally acclaimed young muscian of the year winner Mathew Bartlett and the serial grammy nominated acappella group Voces8. In July and August the beach hosts the family fun Water Carnival and the Regatta. In November there is a spectacular bonfire and firework display on the beach. In the last few years the Millenium Falcon and the Black Pearl from Pirates of the Carribean have been constructed and set alight.
On the south coast of Devon just 30 minutes from the city of Exeter and Exeter Airport Shaldon is just a shoort drive to the English Riveria (Torquay) and the wilds of Dartmoor. Our village is an ideal place to discover this beautiful county and enjoy its secluded bays, dramatic Tors and moorland and ancient rustic culture.
