The Xindian River winds through Bitan, forming a wide river bend surrounded by cliffs and hills. This peaceful, emerald-green lake inspired the name "Bitan," which means "Beautiful Bay." The area is perfect for boating, swimming, and fishing. Historic calligraphy by Sun Ke (former president of the Examination Yuan) is carved into the cliffs, and the nearby "Biting Pavilion" adds charm to the scenic landscape.
The iconic Bitan Suspension Bridge, built in 1937, stretches approximately 200 meters across the river. Offering postcard-perfect views of the mountains, river, and boats below, it is a must-visit spot in Xindian.
