Convenient, comfortable, stylish.
Spent two weeks at this lovely apt. overlooking the dolphin lagoon. We wanted a spot between Playa and Tulum where we could meet English speakers, ex-pats and travellers to help on our search for a place to winter. Itzel's property was perfect. The beach is maybe 200' away across the street. The front window overlooks the dolphin lagoon and we could see them jumping and playing throughout the day/night. There are nearly 20 restaurants a short walk down the steps and most have live music (ending at 10 pm). We could hear music from Cafe Ole without leaving our bedroom if the windows were open, but it never proved a problem. The kitchen is well equipped, the apartment is beautifully lit with hidden accent lighting around ceiling and floors...all dimmable (big hit with my girlfriend!). The listing said washer/dryer but when I noted to her there was none she apologised that part of the listing was apparently left over from previous owner and she would gladly pay for any charges incurred for doing ours. She was quick to respond with any problems...even stopping to pick things up for us at the store. Puerto Aventuras is a bit more expensive...it is after all a gated resort community catering to mostly Americans/Canadian retirees and tourists- but Happy hours are notorious and deals can be had almost everywhere if you try...even the pharmacy! The place is stylishly furnished and comfortable for two. If you're looking for quiet isolation, this may not be your place. If you are looking to be in the middle of everything, walking distance to great bars and restaurants, fishing charters, beautiful beach and a romantic getaway- we'd highly recommend.
