We booked this room along with another in WP for the same rate. They were nowhere near the same quality of room.
Before I get to that I’ll start off with the overall of Windward Point. Location and amenities are great. There is no on-site lobby or staff, but that wasn’t a huge issue to our group, just something to note ahead of time. The elevators were a little sketchy. They shook and rattled a little more than what I would call a normal amount as they went up and down. Also the inspection was a year and a half past expiration which didn’t exactly give me the warm and fuzzies.
Now for the room... from day one, the ice maker didn’t work. There was water pooled in the floor and they sent maintenance who did something to the fridge. Over the next several days ice built up in the freezer until it was unusable. We called 3 more times over two days, but no one ever came back. Several plugs didn’t work, lights were out, and holes were in the wall. The place hasn’t been updated since the 90s and it shows as faucets, light fixtures and fans are corroded and rusted and the furniture is filthy. The floors were filthy as well. I’m not talking about the inevitable beach sand. I mean walk around for 2 minutes and the bottoms of your feet are black. The blender leaked, washing machine was off balance, and the bathroom fan was absurdly loud and I’m not sure it even worked at all.
If you’ve gone through the trouble to read this far, move on, book a different unit and maybe even a different location altogether if you can.
