The cabin hadn’t been cleaned in an incredibly long time. The downstairs bedroom had mold….yes. I know what mold is - I’m a property manager on the Gulf Coast - and this was legit fuzzy, growth of black and white mold growing above the bed on the ceiling, and along the interior wall behind the door and all in the bathroom on the bottom floor. The towels reeked of an awful smell, even after washing them five times. The dining room table still had food and water rings on it from the last visitors. The blinds were coated in dust, along with ceiling fans, walls, baseboards. Half of the video games were broken. Two of the theater seats were broken, in addition to the riser stage for the rear seats. There were only four forks, five pieces of glassware, no toaster. Most of the window blinds were broken. The pool table was in such disrepair we didn’t touch it. We didn’t go near the hot tub, because if they can’t clean the tubs, showers, or oven - we didn’t even want to KNOW what was going on in the hot tub. There were bugs everywhere - in addition to garbage all over the grounds around the exterior trash disposal bins. Every single room had half of the light bulbs either missing or burnt out , so seeing at night was a challenge for both couples in any room. Overall, this was a huge disappointment and nowhere near worth what it costs us to stay. We will NEVER rent from this “management” company or owner again. We aren’t even hard to please - just clean it and we could have made due!
