We originally visited a little over a year ago and returned to celebrate a birthday in the country, away from busy city life. The weather was a bit cold and rainy, but the house warmed up quickly and was very comfortable.
We used the soapstone stove a lot. It's really beautiful and has a big window so we could enjoy the flames ficker. The house is well stocked with seasoned firewood, as well as kindling for starting it. The stove gives off a lot of heat and was cozy to read beside.
The kitchen had a variety of teas and coffee, and was well-stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and up-to-date appliances.
One evening, we tried out the DVD collection, watching a Fry and Laurie episode and an old Myrna Loy, William Powell movie. (We're fans of both.) Also, the wifi worked great.
Overall, the house is in perfect condition, has everything we needed, and is easy to operate. There is a binder with info about the house that clearly explains everything--how to operate the wood stove, adjust thermostats, etc.
In Farmington, we tried Thai Smile for dinner. It has a great beer selection and delicious dishes. We also browsed the extensive used bookstore, Twice Sold Tales, and an art gallery.
