Cabin was nice, cutely decorated, difficult to find. Unbeknownst to me, a guest complained to host re dirty sheets, bathrooms, grill, etc just to advise her about probable poor cleaning service. Host told Guest that a new cleaning service was used, then kicked us out, stated would give full refund. When I then learned of this, I contact Host & politely ask host to reconsider & reply was she had already contacted Vrbo to kick us out, that she had herself done the cleaning & would only give partial refund, to notify her when we left. We were 10 hours from home, had to find lodging, rest of family had to just go home. Vrbo did not contact me until late that evening only to offer suggestions where to stay. Vrbo is not easy to deal with & has not resolved the matter. Bottom line: Host should have been consulting me, the one who booked and paid, not the guest. Vrbo should have reached out to me immediately when host kicked us out. Host gave conflcting stories and Vrbo is giving me the run around. The complaining guest cleans condos so knows how a rental s/b cleaned. She went & bought cleaning supplies, washed sheets, scrubbed bathrooms, etc. The cabin was much, much cleaner when we left than when we arrived. We were heartbroken not get to be with our family & we incurred unnecessary additional costs that were not planned or in our budget!
