An absolutely wonderful choice if you are looking for a premier spot to stay in one of the coolest towns there is. As soon as you walk through the front door you are transported to what feels like an English cottage – light, bright and airy. Look outside the back door to the manicured gardens full of peonies and other flowers. To the west, a small public park that you would never know was public (I do not even think the locals know it is there for their use); it truly felt like an extension of the yard. Walk up the lawn of the park to the benches overlooking the beach to see some of the most incredible pastel-filled sunset skies. We were lucky to catch several of them during our stay. We enjoyed a few nights al fresco dining on the patio surrounded by the blooming flowers in the gardens with wine we just bought at whatever vineyard(s) we visited that day. It would behoove me to mention the herd of deer that live in the area. Almost any time of day we would catch them grazing in the field out back or laying in the park on a hot day. We could be in the yard, and they would be but 50 feet away.
The open living room/dining room floorplan was the perfect size to host small gatherings of family and friends that we had not seen in over a year. All who joined us absolutely loved the location, the house, and the property. You can tell the owners take pride in their home and I thank them for their willingness to share it with us.
Last but certainly not least, Marilyn, who manages the property and is also the Innkeeper at a bed and breakfast a few short miles away is a gem in her own right. Responsive, kind, and diligent – she made communication a breeze and was always available for text or talk – even after we checked out! Overall, my wife and I could not be happier with our stay and are already discussing plans for our next trip.
