I bought this property off plan in 2007, and took possession in 2008.
Bought for many reasons, main one was the fact it was on a golf course and appeared to have many amenities to offer. Shops, golf course, pools, etc onsite.
One of the main factors for buying was also the fact that it is a gated complex and there is a security presence there all the time.
The area appealed to me, not too far from the beach, and lots of lovely towns/villages within driving distance. Cartegena, Murcia to name a couple.
Airports are not too far way either - Alicante just over an hours drive away, and Murcia (San Javier) approx 45 mins away. Another factor in the location is the new airport that is due to open this year, as it should only be about a half hour away.
