An absolutely superb little cottage nestled in the Welsh hillside that literally took our breath away.
Brynhoreb is so homely, comfortable and practical. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday. The views are simply amazing and a fantastic example of how unspoilt rural Wales is.
The location is brilliant - a few minutes drive to Aberystwyth which has everything you will need - shops, bars, restaurants, souvenirs, the mandatory fish and chips on the pier etc. It's also not far from Cardigan Bay to see Dolphins and Seals or Tal-y-bont to walk along as many public footpaths as you could hope for. There is so much history and adventure in the area. There are maps available in Brynhoreb which we took full advantage of.
When you're tired of sightseeing the cottage is equipped with a tv, board games and decks of cards as well as a stereo. Perfect for an evening cosied up by the fire.
We brought our little dog along who quite frankly had the time of his life - many of the shops and pubs in Aberystwyth are dog-friendly which was lovely and he was very content.
Organising key collections was straightforward and took two minutes to arrange.
The hot tub was wonderful and easy to use (even in October) and we enjoyed watching buzzards, hawks, bats and other wildlife from this spot on the hill. The house itself is very warm and very clean with central heating. We loved the good quality items in the kitchen - the electric hob is very fast and the utensils and white goods are equally nice and efficient.
The decking construction surrounding the house is a marvel and we had a lot of fun exploring all of the little doors and paths up to the garden. We didn't have time to have breakfast on the veranda but I am sure in summer it's just lovely.
The only things I would highlight to new holiday makers are:
1. The road on which the cottage is situated is as you would expect - a pavementless country B road - so be prepared to drive out a little way before you go walking or exploring.
2. Taxi drivers in Wales much prefer to take cash and will need very clear directions to find the cottage.
All in all we loved Brynhoreb and will definitely be back again as soon as we can.
Thank you so much Stuart!
