A Beautiful Stay in a Beautiful Home

The pictures of this home are lovely, but they don't quite do justice to the views this home has and the atmosphere it creates. Movies in the basement with the kids, watching sports and cooking in the living room, reading by the fireplace, and running up and down the hill in the backyard after a day of skiing. It's a lovely home in a great location - easy to get to town, easy to get to Okemo and easy to check in and out of. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful

We had a wonderful stay. The property was very clean and perfect for my wife and 3 kids. Great decor and vibe. The lifts are just minutes away by car. The local restaurants were great. The host was extremely attentive and kind. It truly is a hidden gem. We can’t wait to go back.

Incredible!

What an incredible house! There was so much room to spread out and enjoy. The house was immaculate when we arrived and Mr. Newman was incredibly responsive and helpful. I cannot recommend this house enough. It was a perfect distance to the slopes and to town.

Fantastic

This is a modern, well-appointed home with incredible views of Okemo Mt! It is a secluded home for privacy, but close to conveniences. Our host, Erik, was friendly and informative and very prompt. Fantastic Property

We stayed for 1 week in August as a getaway for our family. We spend a few family vacations per year in the Ludlow, VT area and this property was one of the best we have stayed at. Great layout of the house for everyone only surpassed by the views from the main living area and deck. Very communicative and welcoming owner. The final plus to this property was the beds. All were very comfortable, and as we have found out from years of using VRBO to rent vacation houses, the beds are always a gamble....not here.

Beautiful Home, Great Location

This was the perfect home to stay at while skiing at Okemo. The location of the home provides privacy with beautiful views of the mountain while only being a few minute drive from anything you need. It was very easy to get to the base of the mountain in only a few minutes. Great proximity to shops and restaurants. The house looks exactly like it does in the pictures and all the amenities are top notch. The Host was great and very responsive. You can't go wrong with renting this home!

Great summer retreat

My husband and I stayed here for 3 weeks to escape the July South Carolina heat and revisit the Ludlow area after being away for many years. The house was very comfortable for the two of us, as well as friends who visited during our stay. Sitting at sunset on the deck was a highlight for everyone, and we loved watching the wild turkeys in the meadow behind the house. The location, less than 5 minutes from town, can't be beat. We can't say enough about what a terrific host Erik was for us; he promptly replied to all questions and concerns, and all minor issues were promptly resolved. It was hard to pack up and leave, and the time just flew by!

Fabulous Property

The property was beautifully designed with many places to enjoy. The deck had chairs as well as a table and chairs. There was another seating area with a firepit with ample seating. The view from the house and deck was absolutely incredible. You are able to see the mountain from every window! The house was appointed well with many places to enjoy. The kitchen was spacious with many amenities, several seating areas, beds were very comfortable, washer and dryer and the bathrooms were great. Our stay happened to coincide with the horrible flooding event in VT. The property owner was amazing by communicating updates often providing details about the accessibility, travel options and overall access to stores in town. We will definitely return to this location and our family enjoyed a lovely stay.

Mountain Retreat Fit for Multiple Families

This home was everything we could have asked for and more. The location was perfect, as we were less than two miles from town and a short drive to Okemo's Bell Tower. We had two families staying., with plenty of room to spread out. My sister's children stayed in the lower level while she and her husband slept on the first floor. My husband and I took over the third floor bedrooms with our three children. The bunk beds were perfect. They had everything to keep our kids happy after a long day of skiing. The house was well supplied for traveling with children including games, and child size cutlery. The fire place was amazing and heated the home quite quickly. Everything was new, new, new! We will be sure to return for another ski weekend!

Perfect!

Came to spend another wonderful weekend of skiing at Okemo. What sold me initially was not that this house was so beautifully photographed and looked as if it checked all the boxes but that other reviewers mentioned how comfy the beds were. After you’ve done this rental thing a few times you find the houses to be beyond wonderful but the beds and linens fall short. Sooooo not the case here ... great nights sleep staring out the window at Okemo in the full moonlight couldn’t have been more perfect in a super comfy bed. We were a multigenerational family staying here and young and old alike were entertained with all the fun and games provided by the Newman family. Had no want or need to watch the tv’s provided throughout the house as the games and the view were more than enough to keep us occupied. So much fun! Thanks!

Breathtaking views in a beautiful home

Rarely does a listing exceed expectations, but this home was absolutely stunning. The booking process was easy and all communications with the home owner were friendly and informative. In the main living area, the large windows framing the view of the mountains in the distance are stunning. In our short time at the home, we watched sunsets and evening storms through the windows. The kitchen was stocked with all the basics and the large kitchen table was perfect for enjoying meals, or in our case, a jigsaw puzzle on a rainy afternoon. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all clean, spacious, attractively appointed, and comfortable. The basement lounge area was a huge plus for our teen son who was able to have his own space to hang out. All house policies were made clear and we experienced no issues during our stay. This home is truly top notch! The town of Ludlow is charming. We enjoyed tacos from Tacos Tacos (a favorite of my son) and pizza from Goodmans American Pie. If you are looking for some adventure, head over to Okemo. We took the ski lift to the top of the mountain, then hiked up to the old fire tower for incredible views. You can grab a snack at the lodge on top of the mountain before hiking back down one of the trails. They also have a mountain coaster which was fantastic. Our last day, we took a ride over to Six Flags Great Escape in Queensbury, NY. It is only 90 minutes away and was a full day of fun for us.

Serenity and stunning mountain views

We are repeat visitors and have already booked for next year. For us this is the perfect fall getaway in Vermont, with ample hiking, fun shopping, and scenic views everywhere. The homeowner could not be more agreeable and it has been a pleasure to spend time in this beautiful home and area.

Spectacular Vermont hideaway

Blissfully quiet with always beautiful views looking toward Okemo Mountain. Great location for hiking, shopping, exploring surrounding villages. We love it here and will book for next year. Owner is unfailingly courteous and friendly.

Fantastic Stay

This property has a great layout (3 levels), beautiful views in a quiet location, abundant wildlife, is very clean and well-supplied. Owner/host contacted me shortly after booking, and a week prior to our vacation, with great suggestions for sites and points of interest. Our departure was 10/6 and we feel like we hit the perfect time for fall colors which covered Okemo in the distance. A couple of us enjoyed a chiminea fire around dusk. Furniture is comfortable. Streaming services worked well as we watched college and NFL football. Kitchen appliances, cookware, and dining supplies were more than adequate. This is a nice home with a helpful owner, and one we gladly recommend.

Wonderful secluded property with outstanding views, and conveniently located

We had a great week relaxing around the house and property, enjoying the seclusion and quiet. The views from the living room, sun room, deck, and game room are absolutely outstanding. The house has everything you’d need / expect. We enjoyed exploring Ludlow (a short drive away) and the surrounding area. I also made it out for several bike rides right from the house which was quite peaceful. Highly recommend this property.

Better than expected

The VRBO was better than expected. Close to town and slopes yet secluded and quiet. The views from the house are amazing. The property is new, well equipped and spacious. Communication with the host was great. They have me lots of information which assisted in how I scheduled my activities. A great place to stay.

We started this adventure in 2020, clearing the land and building a second home to enjoy skiing, hiking, swimming and all the amazing recreation and amenities that Ludlow and the surrounding area have to offer. We designed it to have everything we would want in a Vermont family getaway for relaxation and fun, without being too fussy. Can't wait to retire there, but in the meantime we reside in New Hampshire where I'm a lawyer, my wife is an educator and we get to enjoy sharing our dream home with you.

As our many guests have commented in their reviews, the pictures just don't do this amazing view justice. It is one of a kind for Okemo. Watch the groomers by night and you can spot individual skiers by day. Very private setting with direct access to hiking, including a 15 minute hike up to "the Lookout" with 360 degree views of the Green Mountains. Sunroom, deck overlooking the valley and mountains, seasonal stream with small bubbling waterfall beside firepit patio - there's magic throughout the property.

Location is exceptional. 5 minute drive to Okemo and under 5 minutes to downtown Ludlow for that last minute addition to the fabulous dinner you are cooking while gazing our at the mountains or a fun night out.

25 minutes to Killington and Magic Ski mountains. 45 to Stratton and Bromley.

20 minutes to Weston to visit the world famous Vermont Country Store and summertime farmers markets. 30 minutes to Woodstock, likely the most picturesque New England town imaginable for more fine dining, boutiques and strolling.

Hiking, snowshoeing and snowmobile access direct from the house. Some of the finest sledding you and your kids have ever encountered mere steps from the front door down into the meadow in front - a 5 minute walk back up the hill when the snow is fast! (Always a few sleds in the garage for guests to use)
