March stay.

Accomodation was clean and comfortable. Needed a play to stay that wasnt too expensive and this ticked the box. Tea and coffee facilities and hand and shower gel in the room. Towels were plentiful and extra pillows also available in the room. A later checkout would make the stay even better. We were out and about so only spent a small amount of time in the room. We walked into moreton in marsh which wasnt too far, about half an hour.

Excellent value accommodation

Excellent value accommodation in an area where hotels etc are really expensive. Easy to check into reception, room is clean and has everything you’d need. It was very quiet and not many folk staying. Security is a bonus ….. we were really impressed and will come again.

Was not aware that this location was fully a fire fighter college. So far away from everything and bus stops don't exist?? This was not advertised and I specifically selected this one because I was told I did not need a car to get around

Weekend break.

A rural setting with lots of space to walk or exercise in the grounds. Rooms are well furnished. Note though that there is no weekend food/drink facility.

Excellent value for money

Everything was just great. My only problem was trying to find our room. I have a disabled husband and had to walk a long way round to locate our room but thankfully a very kind man who worked there showed us the front door and the lift and also helped us with our luggage.

We were pleasantly surprised. It was a lovely stay. Good nights sleep, quiet and safe. It does need updating but it was clean and comfortable. Shame pool and gym is only open in the morning. We couldn't go after checkinh in. 20 min walk to town. Not so bad for the price.

There is no bus service and it was extremely difficult to get a taxi and it is a long walk back to town with luggage.

Perfectly adequate

The facilities were adequate for our stay. We were a group of cyclists , and just needed somewhere relatively cheap in the Moreton area. The rooms were clean and well furnished, and very quiet at night.

The only thing against this place was that no breakfast was available, and to find a breakfast venue was very difficult.

Ok, it's a residential college, not a hotel, so of course that's a key difference. It's a bit site. Reception is easy to find once you've passed security. Very efficient check in. The room we had was reasonable enough. I made sure I'd brought a travel hairdryer. Room booked for two but only one set of towels, so I had to return to reception for a second set. It's 1.4miles from Moreton-in-Marsh. Walkable if you can walk that distance but one of us can't, so we looked at the bus option. Staff seemed vague about the nearest stop and the reliability of service. So we tried all of the taxi numbers at reception....failed. So be prepared to drive in if nec. Room okay for a stopover.

When I rang to ask about the booking I said I was staying away for my partners 40th birthday and wanted to check the facilities were open when we were booking it for the Saturday night. Facilities included bar, pool table, darts board and swimming pool. I was reassured they would be and they were not open when we got there. The receptionist said we can use the pool table but the bar was shut. I was happy enough with this until the security kicked us out. I spent £82 on one night here and it was a joke. Would not have spent the money if I knew all this. The room was dirty and the bed had silverfish in it and there was nobody present to help after 6pm. When we arrived the receptionist didn’t know my name for the booking didn’t know how much money I had left to pay and asked me to load my email and tell him how much I have to pay. Very unprofessional and said he doesn’t work there normally and doesn’t know the system. Wish I knew all this before paying the remaining £41 because I would not have paid it. The service was dreadful, promised things that weren’t even there and a waste of money. I would really like a refund or an offer of a free stay during the week so I can see if it would be worthwhile staying there when facilities are open and maybe I could take some of this back.

The building/barracks we stayed in were clean and well maintained. It was a quiet area and there was ever present security (not a bad thing). Plenty of parking was available. Overall, the entire site was clean and tidy. There's nothing close-by, but a short trip of 9 minutes (driving) takes you into the nearest village. We had a plentiful supply of tea and coffee we could make in our room, and we bought milk and managed to find a small space in the communal fridge for it. There were a couple of small dissapointments. The advertising says there's a vending machine in the foyer and hot and cold drinks available 24/7. However, the vending machine was empty, excepting a couple of stale sandwiches and a couple of cans of Red bull, so we took a trip to the nearest Tesco, about 15 minutes away. The heat in the rooms and building was stifling. Apart from opening a single window, there's no ventilation or cooling at all. The pillows are flatter than a Witches t*t, and extremely uncomfortable. We tried to bolster them up by placing folded towels under them. However, the bed itself was OK, with clean linen. We really didn't get much sleep at all and had to keep the window and curtains wide-open to try to cool the room a little. There is a "kitchen" on each floor with a shared microwave and fridge. Our fridge was crammed with someone's beer, so we couldn't get cold drinks into it. (apart from the small bottle of milk). We never visited the on-site canteen.
