convenient location

Value is not good for the price. Bath room was not clean and looked worn out. Bed linens were worn out and did not look like fresh.

it was good but disappointed with no complimentary breakfast , this was not communicated well during booking. guess hotels.com should clearly indicate during booking and on confirmation

Disappointing!

The hotel is located right next to the Egmore Railway Station and some other central parts of the city. But that's all. There is nothing to look forward to in the property. The rooms look dim with old upholstery, the refrigerator is empty, the bathroom is clean but the soaps/suds are sub-standard. The breakfast can get passing marks, and so can the service. But most importantly, the hotels looks old & worn out and has a damp smell as soon as you enter the reception area. And finally, it does not make good value for money at all!

Untidy Rooms

The conforters provided on the bed was not washed/cleaned. The bathroom glass partition had stains of water and also had a leak. The room had dust settled on every article and object. The lamps hanging from cieling also had dust lying on it. One of the cabinets in the bathroom had a used liquor bottle along with someone's undergarment. I didnt create a fuss at that time since I didnt have much time at hand and also had my wife along with me at the hotel and didnt want her to know this to disturb her. However, I will write back to the hotel as well. I will not recommend this hotel for the price they charge. It is worth only 800-1000 bucks a day.

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel?

There were no towels & potable water replaced in my room by room service. I had to call for it!!!! The food taste & quality was excellent though.

Overpriced

Carpets on the hallways are not clean. Walls inside rooms are not clean. Dust on beds. Towels are below standards. Hallways are not air conditioned. Food is awful.

Standards are not well maintained

Rooms are not well maintained. Service staff is not prompt at all including the room service and housekeeping. Our room was changed 2 times before we could settle down. Food is bad. We had dinner at the Chinese restaurant, it was very oily. Breakfast was very poor, no variety and cold.

NOT MAINTAINED NOT WORTH FOR THE MONEY WHAT U PAY

i had visited this hotel few years back may be in 2009, 2010 i think during that period it was maintained good but i visited recently in august between 29th to 30th during these time the hotel was not at all maintained and they had given me the room no 412 in that room there was no proper window curtain and the sitting was terrible i did not feel like keeping my luggage on it so you can imagine how bad it was and more over the lobby was stinking even at chinese restaurant entry level was also stinking later the fact was relived by one of the staff that earlier it was maintained by country inn and now it is some stupid group is maintaining i suggest Expedia not to suggest for there frequent flyers.

value for money..

Good business hotel.. ask for rooms that don't face the train lines!! This time round they gave me a nice one and the stay was comfortable. The proximity to railway station, interstate buses and eating joints is a big advantage.

Pathetic service from Fortel hotel

For future quest plz don ever consider this place, they are very pathetic, and they cant even give wifi access and more over their breakfast is worst, which they serve only idly, pongal, vada and kichidi..which they charge you Rs 280.00 for that, instead you can have it some where outside...so overall I will never ever stay in this hotel elsewhere...

場所は，チェンナイ市内の大きな駅のすぐ近くで，電車を使って移動する場合には便利． インターネットが無料ではあるが，1時間ごとのサインインが必要だった．ネットのスピードは十分にある．

nice rooms but.....

This is business travelers hotel.. the rooms are well appointed and you get a very basic gym on the non smoking floor and that is where everything ends..The sound insulation between rooms is pathetic, you can literally hear everything that's going on next door!! Located near the stations could work both ways, didn't work for me with the poor sound proofing is and the train horns can be heard 24x7 and can be extremely disturbing at night... believe me its loud!! What is appalling is the breakfast buffet.. opt out of it because there are some nice places near by where you can get a good spread for the extra you pay here.. overall service and staff attitude is nothing great either..

overall this hotel is value for money and we were always assisted by the friendly staff there. food was okay (but not the chinese food on the menu) .Family of 6 adults were happy with our 3 day stay

I may use the same Hotel during next visit

Most of the staff were very cooperative. Restuarant was good and Food served for lunch was very good. I had a chance to have a word with the MD of Hotel. I would like to express my sincere thanks to him for his cooperation. Limited time of room service for food may be reviewed. Break fast after 10 AM was not available for room service except sandwiches.
