Quiet location but not too far from Lake Wanaka. Very comfortable property, feels like home. Excellent private chef.

My wife and I spent two nights of our honeymoon here at Lime Tree Lodge, and very much enjoyed our stay while were there. vThe hotel offered to arrange a wine tour, and we thanked them for this and signed up for it. When we were checking out, we specifically asked the check-out person whether there were any outstanding charges and she said everything had been taken care of. On the day we arrived home, I received a telephone call from the lady that worked at reception who had assisted us. She began by asking if we had left any clothes there. I told her that I didn’t think so, and she said there were male trousers that had been left. Seeing nothing missing, I asked her to send us a picture and she agreed to do so. The photos indicated that these were not our clothes, and I informed them of this. She then said in a rather accusatory tone of voice that we had left without paying for the wine tour. My wife and I told her that we specifically asked if there were any outstanding charges that needed to be cleared up before we left, and were told that our cards had already been charged. Thus, I asked her to send me an invoice showing what we already paid. She sent a message on Expedia stating that we had left without paying and asking for us to pay. I told her that I thought my card had already been charged, and promptly paid the charges that they had forgotten to bill on our card. I thought this whole interaction was very unprofessional.

Food was excellent and wine and cheese at night a nice touch. It gave us a chance to meet the other guests. We stayed 4 nights. Only issue are the rooms were built facing a fairly busy road - so there is road noise at night. Also executive rooms were not as large as I would have expected and also not as sound proof. We could hear snoring next door. Staff is wonderful and Wanaka is great!!

This was my favorite spot during our 2 week travel around NZ. I wish we got to stay for more than 2 days. The owners were absolute gems. They had the best local knowledge and gave us some great advice on which spots to visit. They care deeply about their guest and it absolutely shows!

Charming lodge near Wanaka

We had a wonderful stay at the Lime Tree Lodge. The place is beautiful and it’s owners are very friendly and accommodating. They do their best to spoil you and make you feel welcome while you are staying with them. The espresso/cappuccino machine is awesome (and I want one at my house), the little muffins and cookies they leave out for everyone are delish, the evening manager’s reception was fun, and breakfast was amazing. The rooms are also very comfortable. My only complaint is that we were only able to stay one night. If we ever return to Wanaka, we would definitely try to stay at Lime Tree again.

Lime Tree is awesome!

What a special place!!! John and Pauline are the perfect hosts!!! Everything was lovely. Breakfast was fantastic. Our only disappointment was that we didn't stay long enough. Highly recommend Lime Tree.

Great hosts - lovely place!

We came late (around 9:30pm), and Pauline greeted us with open arms, and still set up the appetizers and drinks for us! Super lovely couple, great food, super accommodating. The breakfasts are made to order and DELICIOUS! These owners seem to take pride in and enjoy what they do. Highly recommend this place.

Awesome hotel and hospitality

Loved everything about our stay here ! The property and grounds are beautiful, the breakfast is awesome (they bring in different local chefs to cook) and the hosts were so warm and inviting. They are around to chat for breakfast and cocktail hour with tons of interesting stories about their previous lives as farm (station) owners and advice about what to see and do for a unique stay. Also eat at Bistro Gentil while in Wanaka - favorite restaurant of our trip.

Amazing Experience!

This Lodge has a luxurious feel with a comfy vibe! Pauline and John are absolutely wonderful people! We loved our room with its patio onto a rose garden. Wine and canapés were yummy. Breakfast is unbelievable! I loved being next to a sheep farm! Terrific New Zealand experience! Short drive into Wanaka.

Fabulous find in Wanaka

It was fabulous. We felt lucky to have found Lime Tree Lodge- literally as the GPS took us a more difficult way to find the place! Once there though-- just an amazing experience. They helped us book activities, did laundry for us, had an amazing breakfast chef, we met 3 lovely couples who we dined out with and then met up with 2 days later, the pool, hot tub, 5 p.m. wine and cheese were great. A truly magical stay. Kudo's for such a welcoming and wonderful experience.

amazing the best of the best

Amazing from the handshake greeting at door on arrival, this lodge is like no other. The hostess goes out of her way to ensure you are comfortable and have all the local information you require to capture all on offer in this gorgeous township. The lodge is so homely and comfortable .... homemade biscuits with coffee and drinks with other guests in the evening. Well done Lime tree lodge a favourite forever.
