Only stayed for 1 night just to sleep because of the location was central. The toilet was dirty so didn't bath. Can hear all noises or conversation from next door. The room is very small and tiny

Here's the scoop
Listen folks, if you are low on funds and need to stay in Manhattan for a night, this will suffice. I don't recommend couples coming here for a sexy night because the walls are thin and the ceilings are like mesh. You can hear everything. I'd say it's clean, but you can't clean built in grime. Great location. Nice staff.
No towels, toilet paper or soups. Not clean or sanitized. Filthy bathroom including toilet. Dirty floors. I won’t recommend this hotel to anyone, even my worst enemy. It’s totally bad!
I understand that this is one of the cheapest listings in Manhattan, but I did not expect this level of dirtiness on the property. You have to ask for sheets and pillow cases yourself (they didn't look clean either). If you're really tight on the budget, I'd recommend going further to other boroughs or just stay in the cleaner hostel.
It’s the bare minimum of a hotel. Unlike other people who reviewed this hotel, I don’t think it was dirty. The bed was clean. No bed bugs are anything like that. The mattress was ok. The bathroom was ok. There was so noise during the day.
Paper thin walls, the floors were filthy. Mop buckets in the hallways were disgusting. Non smoking throughout, however my room smelled like cigarettes when we arrived, and people smoked in the hallway by the fire escape, just outside our room, pretty much around the clock, and staff didn’t seem to care. The room was the exact length of the bed, and an extra 2 feet on the side, mattress was uncomfortable and I had to sleep on a diagonal to stretch out (and I’m 5’1” and petite). The only good thing was the convenience of the location. I would not stay here again and would definitely not recommend it. One of the worst budget hotels I’ve ever experienced
New York hotel cost-quality ratio is horrible and New World Hotel is no exception. Floors dirty, room 16 degrees Celsius in winter and no heating available, bed mattress condition horrific and bed extremely creaky. Warm water in shower only sporadically, TV and safety box not working and so on and so on. But when you stay in Manhattan at peak season, this is what to expect from hotels that cost "only" about 100 bucks a night so is then the fault by the provider or us the ones that choose that destination?
