Very Disappointing

Extremely disappointed that after contracting COVID the day before departing on my holiday, the hotel showed no compassion by offering me alternative dates later, even if the cost was increase, extremely inflexible. I lost over £700 with not even an acknowledgement from the hotel

Fantastic, we stayed here for 3 nights and it was great. The hotel location was really central to the main Duomo Square and what a place to sit and have a drink or 2! The hotel was very clean and has a Beni Cafe attached if breakfast is required. Excellent stay would definitely recommend

The hotel was well placed to main tourist venues. There was a cafe where you could get breakfast or other snacks. The staff were lovely and were keen to meet your needs. They couldn’t have done any more.

The location is EXCELLENT. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and as expected from the photographs. The beds were comfier than the photos suggested! The air conditioning was set to 19 degrees C and not able to be controlled from the room - the only way to turn it off was to open the window or go down to reception. A minor negative compared to all of the positives of the hotel, but something that could be easily solved.

Great old building in one of the little lanes just by the duomo. Perfect location for exploring Florence - I couldn’t think of another location I would prefer more. The attached cafe where you could buy brekkie was very good and we used it for each morning of our stay great cappuccinos and good prices. The air con in our room was broken but was fixe the next day, which I thought was good. As per a previous reviewer, there isn’t much sound proofing from outside or the hotel corridors, but I’m happy with a bit of noise when in a city, so wasn’t a problem for us.

The hotel was located right near the dome, the building is old with unique character and it was very clean . The staff are very welcoming and the cafe has very good choice of food for vegetarians. Overall a beautiful hotel to stay in on a visit to Florence.

Lovely mid-range hotel in the centre of the city within easy walking distance of the major attractions. The Duomo is in the next street' Ponte Vecchio ten minutes away. Clean and cosy. Separate cafe in the foyer. Would happily stay here again.

Likes: AMAZING LOCATION can walk everywhere, friendly staff, comfortable beds, good basic hotel. reasonably priced cafe downstairs. Dislikes: very small shower, thin walls can hear everything, air con didn’t work. I enjoyed my stay as I didn’t intend to stay in the hotel for long other than to sleep.

Perfect location

Hotel is in a great location. Be aware that like all hotels within a great location in Florence, the downside is that the church bells ring from 7 am every morning, loudly and very close and the dustmen come early. You'll get this in all hotels close to the centre. Get up early and wonder round Florence! The second half of the hotel pictured has just been converted into a coffee bar and is great. Lovely coffee and pastries to buy for breakfast and the barrista is great- very friendly and helpful. Lovely way to start the day. Couple of little niggles which stop the rating from being excellent- very loud noisy air conditioning which we had to switch off; a very loud and constant hum in the hallway by our room; shower needs somewhere to put the soap or shampoo and the TV needs a degree to get to any channels. However they are just little things and this is a family run hotel which we would definitely recommend.

Basic hotel in a great location and friendly staff

The hotel is in a fantastic location in Florence - I wouldn’t have picked a better spot. It’s just around the corner (literally) to Il Duomo and is in very close proximity to a number of other good locations e.g. Uffizi. Whilst we were there we walked to every place we visited and that would be fine for the average person. The hotel itself is quite basic but it served its purpose for what we needed. Essentially we were only there when getting ready in an evening and to sleep. The staff were very welcoming and the receptionist was always smiling and would greet us every time we returned to the hotel. I’ve marked room comfort and facilities and condition as a 3 as when we arrived the toilet blocked with the first flush. This was sorted out by the staff ASAP, but isn’t ideal when you first arrive somewhere. Also, the air conditioning didn’t work whilst we were there. We’d mentioned it in the initial Expedia survey (which we didn’t know actually went to the hotel as it said it wasn’t published) and the staff messaged directly to say they’d correct, which they didn’t. It turned on twice intermittently on the last night for about 2 minutes each time. Overall, it was a nice and clean but relatively basic hotel that’s in a great location. As mentioned, only slightly marked down because of the couple of issues. Tip 1: Hair dryer isn’t the best so bring your own. Tip 2: Coquinarius next door is very nice. Good food and wine with a knowledgeable sommelier
