Dated but staff was friendly and helpful! Heated indoor pool while watching it snow flurry outside was amazing for the kiddos. Large rec room for coffee and games with social activities. This place ain’t the 5star embassy but it was perfect for our lil family

Definitely older but very clean and great amenities, ~5-10 minutes away from Sugar Mtn so great location as well. We had to check in after hours and they were very accommodating with that.

The heated pool and jacuzzi were the best after a day of hiking. Did not utilize the sauna or exercise area. The atmosphere of the lodge was clean and comfortable. Staff were so pleasant and accommodating. Had to use stairs for the many levels. Not ADA compliant for those in need from my experience. The room had more than expected. Full kitchen/living area and private bedroom. Would definitely book this lodge again in the future!

The staff was friendly and parking was easy. The property is beyond repair. It just needs to be demolished and build new. Carpet, flooring, furniture, fixtures. All of it looks decades old. Clean- yes but very old and run down.

We stayed here last week for three nights in a one bedroom. It's a unique place, definitely built in the 1970's or early 80's, with a rustic vibe and wood paneling everywhere. Our room was nice and looked like it had been renovated fairly recently, even though the overall place could use some upgrades (new carpet in hallways, for example). Our weather was moderate for the whole stay, but I would be worried about the old floor heaters if we had to use them for long. They worked fine when I tested them, but they are definitely old and not best for babies/toddlers in the room. And I'm not sure about the cooling unit in the living room (none in the bedroom), which was fairly loud. We only needed the fans. I didn't see an elevator, so check with them if you need to stay on the main floor. The lounge area is massive and has some games (pool table, foosball, etc.), and we loved the indoor heated pool and hot tub. The pillows were not the most comfortable, but I expect that at nearly every hotel. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, and we'll probably come back again, especially in the spring or fall. Being next to NC-105 it was very easy to get to where we wanted to go (Grandfather, Linn Cove, Linville, etc.).

While the room was very clean, we did check the bed because we always bring our own sheets on vacation. When we stripped it to put ours on there was blood on the mattress owns so we flipped it over and put our own things on.

The property is old and dated, but was nice. They have an indoor swimming pool and hot tub, with a great view of the mountain. The lobby is nice, and the grills outside were nice because of the garden area.

We will definitely be staying here again in the future! The rooms were great for our little family of 4 (the bed comfort isn't what I'd rave about, but the size of the rooms, and the kitchenettes were really nice). The pool area was really nice. Parking was easy. Driving distance to so many amazing places! The saunas didn't turn on, but that was the only bummer during our short stay. Definitely recommend for a trip to the area!

No pets, stove, fridge, microwave, fully furnished kitchen. Rec room, indoor pool, hot tub, sauna. Laundry and easy check in. We would stay here again if we go to this area again!

The location is great and the room was clean. The cobwebs and bugs around the secondary entrances are a little bothersome. Some updates to linens and room decor would go a long way.

As a rule I hate full wall mirrors. No bath soaps, hand soaps nor shampoos. No coffee or tea, though there is a coffee maker. Mattress couild have been replaced, oh, several years ago. Insubstantial pillows didn't help. Must clean dirty dishes (that's okay) and leave in drainer, though it wasn't provided. Don't forget to take out the trash or it will be an extra cost. No mention in property description that in effect this is not a place for a one or two night stay unless guests travel with the above. In sum, it is not a hotel. Or a BnB since there isn't a second B. Maybe a short term budget rental.

Older mid 70s interesting past glory days after talking with staff. Mainly now a time share complex. Rooms where clean not much changed its been a long time that i got a real room key. And a rental dvd list.
