Hidden oasis

The host was so friendly upon our arrival. We wish this place would've been more than a one night stay. I wish i could've been there for wine tassting on Thursday evening. The hotel grounds and room were beautifully renovated and felt like you stepped into another time. The village of Archanes was fun to tour and the food was amazing! Great place to stay.

We stayed at this beautiful space overnight on our way home and felt warmly welcomed. The place is relatively new and well equipped and tucked away in the town. Our host was wonderful and breakfast was delicious and filling. The supermarket is very close and easy to walk to restaurants and pastry shops nearby. Close to several wineries and we visited the Stilianou winery which was lovely(lots of narrow roads to get there though, as per usual rural Crete). We had a restful sleep and very close to drive to Heraklion airport (20 minutes). Would stay again. Thanks for sharing this space. 😌

We stayed for 4 nights and we loved it. We will certainly come back to enjoy this beautiful place. It’s pretty new, in excellent condition and well located in the small town of Archanes. Restaurants are in walking distance. Wineries are close by. There is no parking at the hotel but only a few steps away at the upper street. Excellent and beautiful spot to stay!

All great. Breakfast was a good option. Just one suggestion - a grab handle in the large sunken shower space would make it less risky to slipping on the polished floor and steps when exiting the space.

We stayed here on our last evening in Crete and it was wonderful in every way. The design is impeccable, elegant, and modern, and the room was immaculate with beautiful and refined lighting. The host was lovely as well and shared the great history of the home and generously offered to help us with anything we needed. I would definitely return and highly recommend this to anyone who wants to see Heraklion or Knossos but wants to stay in a quiet historic village.

We really liked the stay here. Very nicely done with nice though deforations. Although the minus was that it was hard to reach any of the personell during the day because they were always away, and I felt a bit that I was bothering the owner when I called to ask any questions, therefore it was also a bit difficult to order any of the services that they have to offer such as massage ect. Also, the jacuzzi they have outside is quite dirty and not really appealing. But the room itself is very nice! Felt very luxurious and calm atmosphere that we liked.

Unexpected gem in Cretan wine country

This hotel was an unexpected gem, just outside of Heraklion and perfectly situated for discovering wine country. Everything is designed to perfection, with both comfort and style in mind. Efi treats her guests like family, and organizes regular wine tastings with regional foods and run by local experts. You can't go wrong staying here, whether it's just for a night while passing through, or as a central home base as you explore the many fascinating parts of the island that are just a short drive away.

Hidden gem x Cretan hospitality

Very successful restoration of a family house, with preservation of original elements and an eye for beauty, comfort and detail. Everything is there to relax body and mind. Warm welcome by the discreet hostess. No need to describe rooms, space, cleanliness. It's all perfect in this hidden gem in the pleasant village of Archanes, with all facilities within walking distance. Just discover it.

Glorious and chich remodel -- luxury abounds

The one-bedroom spa suite suite was amazing--quiet, beautifully designed and tucked away in the lovely wine-making town of Archanes. Our host Effy greeted up personallly with a bottle of local wine and made sure we had everything we needed. (And everything needed was there!--comfortable sheets, luxurious towels, slippers, top quality toiletries). The suite was formerly our host's grandmother's home--beautifully and artistically remodelled. Effy also offered local wine and high end local extra virgin olive oil for tasting and/or sale (we bought some). Parking was just around the corner. We were just a short walk to the city center. Great breakfast offered for a modest additional charge. Wonderful stay and hope to be back in warmer seasons!
