Best Hotel Ever

I have been staying here for some years. I've written reviews before and now I'm doing it again because this hotel just keeps delivering the best hotel experience I have had anywhere in the world and I do travel extensively. In some respects it is quirky, but in a very nice way that makes it more endearing and my home away from home. I take this opportunity to also thank the hotel manager Serge van Vegten. You are in a class of your own. Well done!

Enjoyable Stay

Located in the heart of Xintiandi. Quite far from Pudong. Great Manager at the hotel! The room is not huge but very well appointed. If you want an intimate setting to stay, this is it. Very small lobby and no room service for food or bar.

A little oasis

We very much enjoyed our stay at 88 Xintiandi. We were booked for two nights initially, but decided we wanted to stay longer in Shanghai so we ended up staying for a week. We were able to stay in the same room the entire week, which was perfect. After a long day of photographing and traipsing about the city it was always a pleasure to come back to our little oasis. The one thing the hotel could have done better is the shower/tub combo. It just wasn't up to par. Also, I cannot say enough good about Serge, the manager. He was wonderful in making us feel so welcome and suggesting interesting places to go. Unfortunately, 88 Xintiandi will be closing it's doors at the end of July. So if you are planning on going to Shanghai between now and then, book a room at this hotel. You won't regret it. P.S. The Langham would be stupid not to hire Serge on after 88 Xintiandi closes its doors. He is a wonderful asset.

早餐的服务和质量都很差

继续补充刚才的点评：主要还是早餐让我给我留下不好印象。服务生态度不够专业，顾着在入口那聊天，早餐可选择性很少很少，就跟在美国住的快捷酒店一样。。。。彻底无语。。。。还有服务员不会主动介绍点餐服务，不会看客人有没有需求，就是站在一边只瞎聊。

位置方便，作为小型的高档酒店性价比不高

服务：前台和负责房务的态度都很好。但是作为一家高档酒店，早餐餐厅里的服务员态度不够积极，客人来了之后如果有套餐可点餐的话服务员应该上前介绍，但是餐厅服务员基本上都站在一边聊天。 酒店条件：房间里面条件不错各项设施都很齐备还有音响等。但是酒店门面很低调很不起眼，走进大厅如果不是看到挂着的一些获奖牌子甚至会以为走错酒店，大厅还是太简陋了，另外电梯也只是多了一层木装饰板，觉得还能做得更精致一些。 客房清洁舒适度：客房的清洁和舒适都很好，这是毋庸置疑的。只是有两点：1.住的6楼，阳台下是洋房火锅，也不算正对着酒吧了，但即使关上了两层的玻璃门还是会听到有声音，当然只是很小很小的。2.热水是电热的，酒店反应说部分房间是电热部分是煤气，我觉得作为一家高级酒店不应该让客人存在说洗着洗着头就出现没热水可用要等十几二十分钟的状况。这点非常不满，酒店表示可以换个煤气热水的房间给我，但老婆觉得麻烦不想再打包行李就没换了。 酒店位置及附近地区：酒店离新天地咫尺距离，楼下有马上诺pizza，斜对面就是我们参加的时装秀的场地，还是非常方便的。新天地基本可以满足饮食和部分购买的需求了。

ビジネスで利用。新天地狙いなら、立地は抜群によいです。あいにく朝から夜遅くまで予定がびっしり入っていたので、新天地周辺を楽しめなかったのがとても残念でした。現地の関係先から「ここ、いくらで宿泊できますか？」と質問されるほど彼らにとっても気になったホテルだったよう。朝食はとてもシンプルなので、あまり期待しないほうがいいと思います。

Fantastic location..

Overall it was good stay, but their complimentary ironing offer was a bit tricky. Their laundry service paper is somehow misleading, and I got very much confused. The front desk was helpful and did not charge me for that issue, but it almost ruined my good experience there.

One of the best

We found the whole experience of staying at 88 was enjoyable. The manager, Steve, went out of his way to ensure all guests were comfortable and having the best experience possible in Shanghai with suggestions of places to visit and how to access them. It was such a pleasure to return to our room each day and be greeted by smiles from the staff, fresh fruit in our rooms and comfortable chairs to relax in. Also the adequate desk gave opportunity to plan activities and spread maps etc. The breakfast was delicious and catered for all tastes, setting us up for a great day.

Great boutique hotel for an authentic city stay

Love it here. My best kept secret in Shanghai. Service is normally great. Double check airport info on your own. Rooms need some updating. Furniture is getting shabby. I had to move my room this week due to stained furniture. Room size is great. Bed and pillows are ver comfortable. Great breakfast and lounge amenities included. Nice private gym. Manager is great and accommodating.

황피난루역에서 도보 7분 정도 거리에 위치해 있으며 신천지 북쪽 블럭 끝부분입니다. 신천지 중심부인지라 신천지 관광을 위해서는 최고의 위치입니다. 모든 객실 투숙객이 라운지를 이용할 수 있으며 라운지에서는 간단한 스낵과 음료를 즐길 수 있으나 큰 체인 호텔 라운지 서비스를 기대한다면 실망스럽습니다. 조용히 차한잔과 스낵 즐길 수 있을 정도이며 라운지에서의 조식도 매우 간단합니다. 호텔내에서 만난 모든 직원들이 인사를 친절하게 해주었으며 프론트 직원들 또한 친절하게 응대가 빨랐습니다. 객실은 1~2인 숙박에 충분할 정도로 넓으며 중국 전통 분위기로 꾸며져 있고 객실내에 전자렌지와 조그만 개수대가 있어 편리합니다. 다음 여행시에도 기회가 된다면 다시 숙박하고 싶네요~

신천지를 테마로 한 부띠끄호텔이었습니다. 신천지역과 난징시루역의 한중간에 위치하고 신천지 딘타이펑 바로 앞이에요. 객실이 적은만큼 세심한 서비스를 받을 수 있고 아침식사 또한 충실했습니다. 상해에 혼자 출장가게되면 또 이용하고 싶습니다.

Awesome place in awesome location

I usually stay at the Ritz Portman and this is going to be my new place. It is not only better in location wiht all the great restaurants, shops, etc. around, but the service that this botique hotel is able to achieve is phenomonal! I am surprised it was less than the Ritz, but I guess that is the power of branding and not reflective of the quality of this place. I highly recommend.

住了３天，第２天客房部發現我沒有喝過酒吧台上的茶包，於是提供了其它的茶包供我選擇。另我滿意的是連續三天都幇我把冰桶和酒桶的冰加滿！這只是我第一天的要求；三天都做到了! 早餐在３樓，有室內和室外可用餐。我前兩天都在室外用餐，餐桌上並沒有餐牌，服務員也沒有解說原來是有餐選的。我到最後—天才知道有，因為我坐在室内而只有室內餐桌上有餐牌，我才可憐的知道原來不只是只有自助吧可用！還有服務員只顧相互聊天！ 我不是很明白為何和客房部的差這麼遠？？？

A little gem

Fabulous hotel in the heart of Xintiandi, providing a break away from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai. Service was personal and the Manager keen to ensure all guests enjoy their stay. Breakfast outside on the terrace was a treat and a great way to start the day, rooms included all the little things. Short walk to 2 metro lines, plenty of shopping and an international supermarket nearby.
