Good base but not dark enough for aurora spotting

The cabin looks like someone's home - the bedsheets, quilt & pillow cases had prints and the towels were faded green/brown. There was no service, so there was no change of towels or bedsheets for the 5 nights we stayed there. The kitchen was fully equipped except for no kettle and no potato peeler. The hot water has a sulphur stink. We didn't want our food to be cooked in smelly water so we used bottled water for cooking. We were expected to clear our own garbage otherwise there would be cleaning fees charged to us. The cabins are in a cluster close to each other, and the neighbors' porch lights were on the whole night every night, shining directly into our cabin's kitchen/ dining area (where the balcony is) ruining our aurora spotting plans. The cabin's location makes it a good "base camp" to the Gloden Circle attractions like the Geysir, Gulfoss and the Secret Lagoon (all about 20 minutes away by car), as well as Thingvellir National Park (less than 1 hour by car).

We loved the property. The views were breathtaking and despite the extreme weather, we were always very warm & cozy. The hot tub too was outstanding. The one thing I would have fixed would be the issue with the locks not actually locking. I understand it is a rural area with little to no crime, but as a foreigner from a place that has plenty of crime, it was a bit worrisome leaving for the day’s excursions with the knowledge that the door could not properly lock. Even still, nothing happened which is a credit to the property and the surrounding community. We would happily stay there again and I stand by my high rating.

This stay was great- such a beautiful area with easy access to many sites worth seeing while still feeling really remote and private. There was a problem with our original room before we arrived so we got upgraded and had our own hot tub which was incredible.

Each cottage had it own uniqueness. We totally enjoyed the private hot tub in our cottage. Layout was great with lots of space. Modern amenities and superb view. Will definitely try to visit here again.

We’ve loved our stay in the cottage! Very clean, quiet, and safe with incredible views. We have our own private hot tub, very comfortable beds, and cozy accommodation. The restaurant staff were so friendly and kind for dinner- the food was great as well. Highly recommend the slow cooked lamb sandwich. We would definitely return and recommend to friends who visit Iceland. The price of the accommodation and food is very competitive to nearby places on the Golden Circle. We are so thankful we booked this stay!

Check in wasn't great. There was confusion over which cabin was ours. They gave ours to someone else and we hate to wait a bit to figure it out. Location on the Golden Circle is good but the Economy cabins are not really nice. The bedrooms are super small, only room for a bed. The location is the only plus, everything else was a let down
