Ocean Front Gulf Coast - Enchanted Shell in Surfside Beach Texas

The Enchanted Shell is an OCEAN FRONT property located in Middle Beach of beautiful Surfside Texas, providing a comfortable and soothing holiday for either an adult get away or a family oriented vacation.

You can choose to relax on the beach and enjoy a cocktail, swim in the beautiful gulf ocean or watch the best sunset on the gulf coast.

You'll find awesome surf fishing, beach combing, shelling, and swimming. If you prefer to just relax, grab a lounge chair and kick back on the beach.

Use the provided hammock, swing chairs, and custom adironack chairs to relax with your choice of a get-away book on the over-sized deck (800 Sq. ft), or just watch the incoming/outgoing ships through the jetty.

Off the deck is the newly renovated private boardwalk for easy access to the beach and a nice stroll at dusk.

Everything to make your vacation memorable is waiting for you!

The charcoal grill (on the deck) will ensure you don't miss any of the views while cooking for your family and serving on the large picnic table (seats 8).

The key may not be in the conch shell.... but you can come on in! Swing open the deck gates and get a view of the end of the world.

Great location

Our only complaint is the cleaners didn’t do a very good job. Owner was easily accessible. Se one time we stayed here. Would stay there again.

Best view

We love staying there. This was the second time we have stayed in this property. The views are stunning and the beachfront is amazing. We loved cooking outside on the grill.

This house was perfect for my family. We had a wonderful stayed. Had everything we needed. And the beach view was beautiful! Easy access to and from the beach. We will definitely be renting again in the future.

Great beach getaway

The house has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing time on a nice, clean beach. Close to good restaurants, but easy to cook your own meals. Plenty of comfy beds. Games and books for indoor fun. Great big covered porch looking out to the ocean!

We love this house in his State many times, it has a great view of the beach and the best deck you could possibly ask for. Great hp from Kent and just all around wonderful time!

Great location!

We enjoyed our 4 days very much at the Enchanted Shell beach house! Holly and Kent the owners are wonderful and so easy to deal with. This place is all about location, location, location! The huge deck overlooking the ocean and beach were our favorite! Such easy beach access, right there, just feet away. What a wonderful time we had!

Birthday Celebration

I would definitely recommend this wonderful beach house. The location on the beach was perfect. We never could figure out how to use the AC though. We would leave for the day and come back and the temperature in the house would be 90 degrees and take hours to cool off. Other than that we had a fantastic time!

Surfside Surprise

After a few trips to Galveston, and noticing the brown, silty water - what an amazing thrill to see clear blue/green water from our beachfront deck attached to a wonderfully, comfortable house. Our spoiled jersey shore friend visitors were hesitant to leave their beach for Texas - boy did this place change their minds - and ours! A great, comfortable house - great and extremely responsive homeowner - amazing deck - and amazing location made for an unimaginably great weekend - we will be back!

Location is great! Short distance to beach.

This property could be nice and probably once was but it has been neglected. It needs a lot of work on the outside and the inside. The grass was not mowed like the properties on either side which made the mosquitoes horrible. I feel like with the amount of money we paid it could have been a lot nicer.

Weather was horrible

Rained 2 of 4 days. Cloudy most of the day. Beach was very crowded on weekend when it was not raining. Our guests decided not to come down because of the weather. The house is showing age. The door to the deck leaked during the heavy rain and wind. Doors were hard to open and close.

Enchanted Shell

We had a great time and the place was roomy enough for 2 families - total 6 people with room for more. Minor updates could be made to make it more aesthetic. A/c vent screens could be painted or replaced and rusty hinges on gates could be updated. The under the deck swing was broke. It looked like someone had tried to tape it up instead of replacing or retrying the rope to the hanger. But the LOCATION could not be beat, and having the boardwalk straight to the beach was so convenient. A lot of bang for the $ with this place.

For the price, not a bad place to stay

There are a few minor things that need immediate attention. The main bathroom tub drains very slowly. In a 5 minute shower it was at the top of my ankles. The sink in the main bathroom trickles when you turn it on, even with hot and cold water on at the same time. There is one board on tue back deck that needs to he screwed down. It is right in front of the gate and is a trip hazard. The house could use several updates but I live in an old house so it reqlly didn't bother me, for some it might. I look at it like this, I eat and sleep in the house thats about it. I am there for the heach. The access to the beach is very easy and convenient. The owner communicated well and was even pretty relaxed on us checking in a little early as we arrived a little ahead of schedule. As far as the cleanliness of the house I will say that it could use a good deep cleaning. The things you expect to be clean were but all of the out of the way areas were dusty and looked like the cleaning crew just never touches. Overall we were happy witu our stay though.

Disappointed

We were very disappointed in the house, considering what we paid to stay. It was a little unsettling to pull up and see a support beam with a major crack in it being held together by a 1x4. The master shower floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile, the back door handle is rusting and it cut my hand as well as my husband's. There are rusty nails sticking up out of the deck that we had to hammer down so no one else got cut. The margarita machine had mold growing in it, and most of the utensils in the drawers were dirty. As well as pans that were under the stove. One of the stove burners doesn't work, the coffee pot was caked in burnt grounds and I had to hand wash dishes the whole time because the dishwasher is in bad shape. When we got there the key box was wide open. Anyone could have been waiting for us inside. I did learn upon leaving that it is impossible to close all the way. The pictures/listing of the this house need a major update. I did get a small refund but only after the owner suggested I not say anything on social media.

One glance at the ocean front view (during the winter) sold me on this property, and I knew I had to have it. Now that we have the large deck addition (with table, grill, hammock, chairs, etc.) - it is so exciting to experience the continuing natural changes of the Gulf Coast.

This property provides a get away when the beach is crowded (summer months) and absolute serenity during winter or off seasons times. I enjoy seeing the crowds change, nature adapt, and overall nature at its finest.
