Coastal Trail Cottage. Sleeps 4 . Fully furnished 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom with showers, kitchen, living area and dining area.
AC/heater for climate control in your home
Large garden with direct access to cliff side and the sea.

Central location to travel the island.
10 minutes drive from Ponta Delgada, and Batalha Golf Club.

The cottage is situated in a desirable area of Sao Vicente Ferreira with direct access to the coastline through the privacy gate and only a couple of minutes from the natural swimming pools of Capelas.

There is easy access to all the great attractions of Sao Miguel Island by car, bus or taxi.

The cottage walls are local basalt stone. The ceilings are the original wood . The garden is enclosed by stone walls.

Living area - 2 Leather Sofas, TV with local channels, Internet/ free fiber Wifi.
Dining Area - Table and seating for up to 6.
Kitchen - New units throughout. Fully equipped. Fridge, stove top, vent, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, portable electric fan heaters.
Bedroom 1 - double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
Bedroom 2 - Sleeps 2 with 2 single beds
Family bathroom - shower, sink, toilet, bidet.

Garden - large garden with rear access to the cliffs and sea, Picnic table overlooking the sea. Outbuilding with washing machine and tumble dryer. Patio with garden table, chairs and loungers

Parking is available on the quiet road outside the cottage.

Ed and Bonita, property managers of VHM Azores, take care of welcoming guests, preparing the cottage, repairs and dealing with any requests. Bonita speaks English. She originated from western Canada and Ed was a returning local from Sao Miguel. They have been working the tourism sector for since 2007.

Very quaint cottage. Edgar was very accommodating and friendly.

Very easy communication and accommodating with anything we requested. Loved Sao Miguel. Lovely island.

A nice rustic cottage with a walking trail nearby.

We enjoyed our stay at the rustic cottage. A walking trail along the coast to the nearby town was enjoyable. The provisions within the cottage upon our arrival were sparse; very little toilet paper or paper towels provided, no hand/shower soap. Our communication with our host was great. I would recommend this location .

Self catered or self serviced homes do not provide after the first day. It is written in the advert and the house rules binder- We provide essential items to start your first day. 2 Bars of hand soap in bathrooms should have been more than enough for a weeks stay.

Das Stone Cottage hat eine excellente Lage an der Steilküste. Der große Garten grenzt direkt daran. Frühstück und Abendessen können auf der Terrasse eingenommen werden. Das Haus hat eine gute Ausstattung, vor allem in der Küche hat nichts gefehlt. Wir haben uns über 1 Woche sehr wohl gefühlt.Checkin-Prozess hat super geklappt. Mit dem Auto kann direkt vor dem Haus geparkt werden.

Schönes Cottage am Meer

Das Haus entsprach der Beschreibung in jeder Hinsicht. Es liegt am Ende einer kleinen Ortschaft und ist ein wunderbarer Ausgangspunkt um die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Insel zu entdecken. Ein Naturschwimmbad ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Direkt hinterm Haus befinden sich Klippen mit tollem Ausblick aufs Meer. Hier haben wir gern gesessen. Der Garten ist echt schön. Es gibt Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten. Ein Grillplatz ist auch vorhanden. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet und auch zum Grillen ist alles da. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und haben uns wirklich erholen können. Ein Auto ist angebracht. Der nächste Supermarkt ist mit dem Auto etwa 5 Minuten entfernt.

It supplies guest with rules of the property as well as important information about the trash pick up days, food market, WIFI, self checkout and our contact information for assistance at anytime.

By The Sea

A traditional cottage right on the ocean, this home was perfectly located for our exploration of Sao Miguel island. It had everything that we needed for a housekeeping stay and going through the back gate to sit and sip a glass of local wine and watch the waves break on the rocky shoreline was almost paradise. Bonita was attentive and readily available when needed. The island itself is gorgeous and green and you can't go anywhere it seems without an amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean. We visited in September and the weather was just perfect - always between 20 and 25, warm in the daytime and just a bit cooler at night with never ending sea breezes. The roads were never crowded and we so much enjoyed exploring all the off-the-beaten-path "miradouros" or designated lookout places where extraordinary vistas of sea and mountains awaited us. altes Steinhaus in zentraler Lage

Schönes altes Steinhaus in guter Lage an den Klippen. Wenn alle Türen und Fenster verschlossen sind kommt es zu starken Geruch nach Salpeter, was wohl dem alten Gemäuer geschuldet ist. Auch der morgen- und abendliche Besuch von Kakerlaken lässt sich dadurch kaum vermeiden, wer also Atemwegserkrankungen hat und sich vor den kleinen tierischen Besuchern ekelt, sollte lieber ein modernes Haus wählen. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut und es ist alles vorhanden, was zum täglichen Leben benötigt wird. Die Terrasse mit dem Grill und der Feuerstelle im Garten sind prima. Kurz aus der Gartentür raus und man steht an den Klippen zum Meer, hier den Sonnenaufgang zu bewundern ist traumhaft. Zur nächsten Möglichkeit ins Meer zum Baden zu gelangen sind es aber ca. 15 Minuten Fussweg. Leider wurde gleich am ersten Abend bei uns eingebrochen und unsere Urlaubskasse und einige andere Dinge aus dem Schlafzimmer zur Strasse gestolen. Wir bemerkten dann, dass sich das Fenster zwar zuschieben lies, dann aber nicht mehr verriegelte. Nachdem wir den Vermieter darüber informierten, wurde das Fenster auch sofort repariert. Man sagte uns, dass so etwas noch nie vorgekommen ist und die Gegend sehr sicher sei. (Fast alle anderen Häuser haben aber Gitter vor den Fenstern). Auch hatten wir das Gefühl, dass man uns nicht glaubte, dass Geld und Gegenstände gestohlen wurden. Leider hatten wir nicht die Polizei informiert, so dass wir keine Bestätigung für die Versicherung hatten - ist uns eine Lehre! Wir haben lediglich den Vermieter gebeten uns zu bestätigen, dass wir sie über den Einbruch informiert haben - hat er aber nicht getan, weil man uns den den Diebsstahl wohl nicht glaubte und wir die defekte Verriegelung des Fensters durch zu festes zuziehen selbst verursacht hätten. Fazit: Wir kommen gerne wieder nach Sao Miguel, wählen aber eine andere Unterkunft.

Thank you for your nice review for the most part!! As for the alleged break-in, there was absolutely no evidence that it was not an inside theft. We have had no such incidence in the 4 years with any other guests who stayed here. The houses on the ocean side have old traditional wood shutters to close after their vacation season. On the opposite of the street are luxury homes . One traditional cottage still has the steel bars on its windows because the owner left it as it was a hundred years ago. Andreas asked us to compensate you for the loss of 500 euros and flashlight which we only saw in his phone photos. When we refused, we suggested this is a police matter and should be contacted but he refused. He was more interested in us writing a letter lying that we saw the stuff that was missing for his insurance purposes. Luckily, the insurance didn´t cover anything either. We did make an adjustment to the window lock to close better and we spray regularly around the property walls for any beetles that may wonder close to the house. If the doors are kept close (mostly at night) there is no problem. The guest has agreed that the house is in good condition with many amenities to enjoy. This property is very popular because of this while being in a beautiful stone house setting. Most walls are plastered inside but the entrance wall that backs to the livingroom as feature wall that has been sealed with cement, keeping it clean. It is a fantastic place with the large garden to suntan or play and the gate at the back leads you to the amazing coastline to walk.
