Also 2 km from the house there is a tennis club with 5 clay courts, 3 hard courts, 3 paddle tennis courts and a fronton wall for practice, a multi-purpose court, a squash court and mini golf with 18 holes.
In addition to to its natural beauty and excellent settings for sea and land sports, Catalonia offers visitors a tremendous range of opportunities to enjoy exploring its history and culture. Nearby there are many attractive historic villages and castles and vibrant local towns to visit. What's more Girona, with its outstanding cathedral, fascinating history and varied museums and shops to explore, is only 45 km away.
Also not to be missed is the gastronomy of the area. In particular, follow the 'seafood route' with prawns from Palamos, sea urchins from Palafrugell, anchovies from L’Escala and rockfish from Begur.
Fish markets in Palafrugell and Torroella de Montgri and fish auctions in Sant Feliu de Guixols, L'Estartit and Palamos, starting at 4.30pm, give you the opportunity not only to enjoy the freshest fish but to see all the action too.
Throughout the year there are many colourful local festivals in the area and in summer there are a range of renowned music festivals on the Costa Brava with a range of programmes to suit all musical tastes.
