Dear Martin Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry that the property had not been serviced prior to your arrival. This was an unfortunate housekeeping issue and certainly not the standard we expect. Once we became aware of the situation, we arranged for the property to be fully serviced as quickly as possible and also covered the cost of your evening meal to compensate for the disruption caused to your first evening. We are, however, disappointed to read about additional concerns regarding the dishwasher and hot tub, as neither of these issues was reported to us at any point during your stay. Had we been made aware of them, we would have had the opportunity to investigate and, where necessary, arrange for them to be rectified promptly. The hot tub is professionally serviced and checked before guest arrivals, and we have procedures in place to respond to maintenance issues throughout a guest's stay. Unfortunately, we cannot address matters that are only brought to our attention after departure. We fully accept that the situation on arrival fell below the standard both you and we should expect, and we apologise again for that disruption. We were pleased that we were able to resolve the housekeeping issue that evening and cover your meal, but we would always encourage guests to report any further concerns during their stay.

We are so glad you all had a good time. It sounds a perfect way to spend a 70th birthday. The recycling is indeed complicated, Devon were one of the first counties to adopt strict recycling practices.

Despite the property having been professionally cleaned and prepared prior to your arrival, we immediately offered assistance to remedy anything that may have fallen short of your satisfaction. Nonetheless, after your request to leave the property, a full refund was issued as a gesture of goodwill — even though you stayed the first night. Thank you for your review. We are pleased you did enjoy yourself. We have spoken to the cleaners about the mop and the BBQ.. We do asks guests to clean it after use and the majority do which is great. The Spa is a self cleaning hydropool that cleans the water every 15mins. On top of this we also have Hydropool themselves, that come in, in between each guest to carry out maintenance and a flush. It should have been fine so I will pass your comments onto Hydropoool. We do wish you would have called us and we could have sent them back immediately.
