Serenity Cottage - Oregon Beach Vacations

Welcome to Serenity Cottage, located in Rockaway Beach! This lovely two-bedroom, one bath home can comfortably accommodate up to six guests. You can even bring your favorite furry friend with you. We're sure they'll get a kick out of running on the beach with you!

Step inside, and you'll find yourself in an extended entryway stocked with various items for lots of beach fun. Entering through the laundry area and kitchen to the cozy living room, with plenty of seating for all your friends and family. Set the mood with a faux fireplace for cozy nights inside and ambiance. There is also a queen sofa sleeper available in the living room. The kitchen is just off the living room, making it easy to prepare a meal while catching up with your loved ones. A small dining room table offers room for six, with a second table in the living room with extra seating, and plenty of couch space.

The kitchen has everything you need to whip up a quick and easy meal for your loved ones, including an oven with a stove-top, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Note that this home does not offer a dishwasher. When entering the kitchen, take a right into the first bedroom, complete with a queen-size bed. The Jack and Jill style bathroom can be entered from this room or through the hallway, leading to the other bedroom. The bathroom offers a walk-in shower. There is also a laundry room at Serenity Cottage, so feel free to pack light for your stay.

The second bedroom comes complete with two queen-size beds, perfect for any of the children in your party, as the room comes complete with a TV, games, Wii, and more, along with plenty of pillows to lounge on while hanging around the house. A completely covered patio area perfect for lounging outside any time.

You'll have incredibly close access to the beach from Serenity Cottage, and to many restaurants and shops that Rockaway Beach offers! You'll also be about an hour's drive from Seaside, to the north, or just 25 minutes away from Tillamook to the south.

Such a cute cottage

This is our second stay here love the location and the house and yard. Would be nice to have a bbq and some of the kitchen utensils could be replaced or upgraded. Also some mold in the bedroom and bathroom wndow sills. The new outdoor couch was awesome and we love the Kurig!!! Our lab Cash loved relaxing and hanging out in the yard!! The beach is less than a block away and so is town its a great spot. Maybe fix the lock on the barhroom door also.

When you walk in for the first time, there is a strong ammonia smell that hits you immediately. Old sewage pipes under the house broken? We opened some windows to air it out. We couldn’t get the k cup machine to work to make coffee, bought some ground and used the drip. The bed in the room next to the bathroom was quite uncomfortable. Not up to par with other rentals.

Overall it was pretty good, did have a strong musty smell we had to leave windows open, a few things could be changed or updated but for the most part good.. wasp nest under covered patio by a pole up high. Coffee pot leaks… great location. Had a fun weekend.

Short Beach Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed being here and found it mostly to our liking. Two specific things that could be improved is the cleanliness-was clean on the surface, but many things like the ceiling fan were not clean. The kitchen was stocked with old and not very functional cooking pans, etc.

Funky, dog friendly, beach place

The house is close to the beach just a short walk down the road but did not expect the house to be so close to 101 and the railroad tracks. House was older with an interesting layout, but we prefer this older style beach house to something modern. Dogs friendly was a huge plus. No Cable and WiFi TV didn't work that great kept buffering so we just watched the DVD's for entertainment.

A rough finish, cute decor but cluttered, dark and kind of depressing. Tripping hazards between rooms with as much as 3 inches difference in floor levels in doorways. I have 2 hip replacements and was constantly afraid I’d fall. No porch lights. Bed was uncomfortable and woke up in pain. I paid as much as I would for an ocean front motel room. I felt claustrophobic and left a day early. I wouldn’t stay again.

Reviewer Comments: We decided to take a last minute trip to the coast for my Birthday and I am so glad that we did. Pros: per night rate, we were able to bring our pup, WiFi was great, TV streaming options were great, location is great, the house was clean, perfect size, well stocked Cons: master bed was very firm, 2nd bedroom is across the house in the remodeled garage right next to the backdoor (which is fine for older kids but I was uneasy about it for my toddlers). Rockaway beach is the perfect little place to enjoy the scenic train ($75 for 4ppl- which we were a little taken aback by the cost), decent food (nothing super special and we were bummed it was difficult to find fresh fish), beautiful walks on the beach with so much to explore. Everything is closed on Tuesdays for some reason. Dispensary is right by the house, which was a plus for me. All in all- we had a really relaxing family vacation and we will continue to vacation all along the coast.

3 nights stay at Serenity Cottage

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arrive at the cottage, we noticed that it had a strong smell right away. I don't know where it is coming from but the rug and the couch looks stained and dirty. We didn't seat on the couch all weekend because it make us feel uncomfortable to seat on the dirty sofa. The floorings are also were dusty and old. That made us feel uncomfortable being there in the living room. The bathroom was pretty clean. The kitchen had what we needed mostly, but didn't have any cooking oil so I would advise to bring that. The fireplace and space heater worked well. However they were both very dusty. I loved the location of the house, it is a block from the beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants. Overall it was a great weekend, but I had hoped to have a cleaner house.

We looked into your reservation notes, and we see that you did not contact our office staff about any of these problems during your stay. We would have loved to fix this for you, either by sending out housekeeping and maintenance, or by moving you to another suitable home. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First things first, the location is amazing. The beach is close and Rockaway is adorable and walkable.Two things worth mentioning: there is no dishwasher at this property, which means you are trusting previous guests to have washed the dishes. If you visit now, you'll find lots of clean dishes because we washed so many of them. Almost everything I pulled out was visibly dirty, which is always gross but especially during covid times. In general the house was cleaned like I clean my own home, and not like I'd expect a rental to be cleaned. Accumulated sand, unwashed throw pillows, etc.The second thing is that the kids' bedroom is a garage and it was freezing cold in there our entire 5 day stay despite having the cadet heater cranked the entire time. That said, there's all sorts of games to play and movies to watch and beach gear available. It's super homey and comfortably furnished and felt like a family beach house. I would visit again with the right company.

Lovely stay

We stayed here for a long weekend. The house was very cute, had everything we needed and wonderful beach access and was also close to shops in ton. The size was perfect for me, my sister and our daughters. The beach supplies had everything we needed. We also brought our two small dogs and it felt like plenty of room. My only complaint is the bed in the adult room was really uncomfortable like so much so that it made my hips ache every night (I'm only 38). I think once they invest in more comfortable mattresses it is pretty much the perfect getaway.

Lovely, peaceful setting and home

It started a little "rocky" because we were told we had to check in late (at 6:00 PM instead of 4:00), however we were given a $50.00 credit to compensate for the inconvenience. This home was comfortable, and quiet, just as we had hoped. It is a few blocks from the beach on a hill in a natural setting with large trees, ferns and foxglove blooming. The one bedroom and full bath downstairs and two bedrooms with full bath upstairs worked perfectly for us, our son and daughter-in-law and five year old granddaughter.

Rating Details: The vacation rental was very dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The picture is not accurate in any way. Without going into get detail, back bedroom] smelled like mold even though we tried to air it out; closed it off and guest slept on couch. Cottage was not clened prior to our arrival, although they boast of going through intense COVID cleaning, sticky floors, left over socks and miscellaneous on the floors, multiple lightbulbs burned out, one adapter in kitchen, so had to continually unplug coffee pot for toaster, or toaster for microwave, etc., deck so dirty did not sit outside once. Furniture and pillows on deck dirty, table on deck dirty, Rusted out large table randomly on grass - no chairs. The place was basically a roof over our head. Very expensive roof, I might add. I was able to speak with the company that lists this house and they were helpful in terms of a small refund; I would rather have had a nice place to enjoy, but all other rentals were booked.
